I played fifa since 2005 and finally tried pes (or efootball whatever), so this review is directed to other long time fifa players that played ultimate team a lot:

first the bad stuff
- Framerate is locked at 60fps and somehow it feels less on my 144hz screen, fifa always had the same problem on pc but at least it was smoother. please fix this konami, i want a smooth game!
- Navigating the menu is slow, pictures don't always load immediately
- long replays for every foul and goal (always skippable but it still takes like 5 seconds after every game interruption)

now the good stuff
-gameplay is slower but more rewarding, its really tough getting used to it but give it a chance! Also quick note, the default button for shooting and crossing is switched in efootball so be sure to switch that back!
-free to play with almost no incentive to actually spend money, I maybe spent like 5euros on this and i have a full team with insane players (all 90+)
- All players feel different and have specific abilities and skills contrary to the 5-star skill moves and weak foot system fifa uses
- Player stats are persistent, if a player plays good in real life, its form will be higher in game too, which means that every game, there is a higher possibility of the player being in form during a match which enhances (or demotes) its stats. So be sure to check your team at the start of every match and press square (or x on xbox) to show its current form indicated with an arrow.
- at the end of the season, you still have all your players, i f*cking hated that every year i had to start building my team in fifa ultimate team again from the ground up basically nullifying all the work i put in in the last fifa game. All players have a contract of 365 days, after which you can renew the contract if you want. This basically means that if you buy players towards the end of the season, they won't be useless after a month or two (cough* fifa ut futties and tots)

tl;dr
Good and cheap game, slower, but with a higher skill ceiling compared to fifa. Would definitely recommend (if only for ea to start fixing their business model in fifa)
