Prepared for the worst based on the mixed reviews. However, I still gave it a chance when it went on sale for $10 and have to say even after some minor trouble getting the EA app to work nicely with steam its quite fun to play.

I guess most of the negative reviews were from launch which really skews the reviews. Or screws the reviews...

I am not sure what you cry babies are complaining about? Maybe its your hardware or other software causing the issues?
Maybe take your thumb out of your mouths, put down the juice box, and do some research on how to fix your sheet instead of whining and crying about it in the reviews section?

Maybe holler upstairs to mommy and ask her to get yer baby blanket, wrap yourself up like a human burrito lie down and meditate for an answer?

Well, I am off to go play some more BF2042 and have a great time trying out some different classes, guns, game modes and more!

Impressive...Most impressive!

Finished in 47 mins but the game was fun, music is relaxing and soothing. Explore, find 6 keys unlock the big red door, simple.

Wish I could donate or pay them a little something for the effort and an enjoyable gaming experience

I bought this game based on 5 mins of watching a friend play. It looked interesting and fun, different.

Game was $17 bucks on sale, so i bought it. Fast forward 4.2 hours over the span of 4 times playing and the game abruptly ended.

I thought well maybe this is a mission or story among many stories in the game but at the end of the 4.2 hours, the credits rolled.......... game over.

I reached for my hand held mirror i keep by my computer desk, looked into it and saw a giant sucker staring back at me.

The Long Dark is a nice divesrsion from multiplayer games. If you love harsh enviornments, blizzards where you can't see because of blowing snow, fighting off hungry wolves, constant serach for food and water, frozen corpsicles, then this is the game for you! There is no real path to take or choose here. It is up to you how you will be able to survive each day. No one to help you. As you play the game you figure out what you need to do to survive, basically by trial and error. There is no camping here, you have to be on the move constantly because just like in the real world you need food, water and make sure you stay warm. You have to keep a close eye on your vital signs and pay attention when you are outdoors as wolves can creep up on you and attack.

THIS GAME NEEDS:
One thing this game needs is the ability to JUMP. There are times that I think the character needs to jump and it makes perfect sense to add jump to the game. Just like in the real world if you jump you exert energy so make jump something that should be used sparingly.

More wildlife- Bears, Geese, Yeti

What about in game characters? AI? It would be cool if you could enter a cabin desperately looking for food and find out someone is already in there, ALIVE and not happy you entered his cabin. You should be able if in survival mode to fight for control of the cabin or run for your life.

More traps- bear traps, wolf traps

Weapons- pistol, crossbow

more enviornmental dangers

more food options

In summary: You will know what it takes to survive. To survive it takes smarts, a strong will, and the ability to find light in The Long Dark.

I recommend that you seal all your friends behind doors

Tihs game is like an old friend.
