I wish there was a neutral option

Game has all the potential to be the greatest RPG-dungeon crawler ever- but no matter what you do- you're still an RNG slave. And there's nothing literally NOTHING you can do about it.

And I wouldn't have a problem with that if that bullsht wasn't INTENTIONAL. Here have an example of what I mean:

The more you learn the more helpless your enemies become- prison guards can look like the total menace- but when you learn which limbs to attack first, when to guard etc. you can walk out from every encounter without losing a single HP point. Neat ey? So now imagine losing to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Priests, literally the weakest enemies(exluding Trotur) you can basically one-shot them. Imagine losing to them becuase afer cutting off their lantern hands, YOU MISSED TWO TIMES WITH A CURSED WEAPON AND THEN LOST THE LUCKY COIN FLIP. I get it, all games will have a certain luck factor, but programming it in such a way ON PURPOSE?! One beer too many my dear Miro....

Also- I get it the game IS SUPPOSED to be CHALLENGING- I'm perfectly fine with that. But artificially spiking the difficuly with PURE LUCK mechanism is the most rtrded way of doing so. If you have a great luck- you will have a great run; if not- the game will penetrate you in da butt-- both literally and figuratively.....

tl;dr- horrible port of game with great potential

Let's start with what I believe to be crucial information here- on my computer one can play Witcher 3 with maximum graphics and experience no performance issues(with the exception of loading times and maybe some cutscenes)

This game is horribly and I mean HORRIBLY optimized- and it shows. It's pathetic console port that should have never showed up on PCs

Basically you do 2 things in game- platforming and combat. How do you think constant frame-drops affect those 2 things? Especially in the game in which combat is clearly inspired by Dark Souls? Combat which punishes commiting even slightiest timing mistakes? I can't imagine beating this game on the hardest difficulty being even possible. And another thing- clunky tank controls- another thing clearly made with consoles in mind which makes both platforming and combat even more frustrating

Graphics are beatiful no doubt about that and music is pure star wars so that's alright

While the open world may look cool and ecncourage exploration it becomes a short-coming quickly- 80% of things that you find are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay in any way. Not to mention most of them look like sh*t but that's just my taste. And things that matter- your HP and force points- half of them are hidden as secrets- yes that's right! EA would rather give you another color for your poncho than something that would make you character more powerful and fun! THANK YOU THAT'S SUCH A GREAT DESIGN

I liked the RPG elements but even there are still flaws. The idea of finding upgrades for your droid companion is cool (even though 2 of them are gameplay-indentical and are artificial diversity- namely Hacking and Overcharge- they both just open previously unopenable things), But the idea that Cal can transform his lightsaber into double-bladed version thanks to random table in A RANDOM PLACE IN A RANDOM PLANET IS ONE of THE BIGGEST BULLCRAP IN THE ENTIRE SW FRANCHISE. I still love the idea of having the option of divergent styles and combos and finishers- they are implemented well (even though some of the combat skill are useless).

Speaking of lightsaber combat- it's completely illogical in this game. Why double bladed lighstaber inflicts less damage(I know gameplay balance, but if you sacrifice logic to satisfy balance of your product don't expect me not to point it out)?- it would make sense with conventional weaponry- but not with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lazer sword! Damage here is inconsistent anyway- Cal shows the ability to one-shot enemies but at the same time, the very same enemy can take several hits coming from the very same blade. Also the stamina meters- they recharge instantly after an enemy takes a hit AFTER ALL THE EFFORT YOU PUT INTO GETTING IT DOWN TO ZERO. I guess stormtroopers' helmets are stacked with senzu beans or something like that so they can refresh their energy ad nauseam

Also the force powers don't make sense from time to time- I know the plot resolves arround a jedi in hiding who has almost completely lost connection to the Force, I get it. But still you want to tell me that the guy who can SLOW TIME so he can perform relatively powerful force ability- he has to be reminded how to push and pull things xD ? I could tolerate the nonsense in wall and double jump- but it still makes almost no sense. Somebody in EA was clearly intelectually disabled. Also sometimes slowed down enemies still rotate with normal speed rendering backstabs, free hits etc. and by extension- the entire ability completely useless. Also why does he need to learn how to double jump to unlock the last force pull ability?

I could go on but- the point is if there flaws coming one after another and each one is worse than a previous one- then maybe you shouldn't have release such game at all? I expected something like remastered Jedi Academy and what I got is- this.

Pls EA do the whole world a favour and relinguish yourself from all the Star Wars rights

This is my first steam review. I've read plenty of them and even wanted to write few of them but always lacked the motivation. Not this time.

If you played MP3 then I guess you also played first and second game (at least I know I played them)

To be fair let's start with pros

Game is graphically beatiful. Cutscenes are obviously screaming GTA but whatever. Also cinematic bullet time kills which turn your enemy into walking gorefest- pure satisfaction.

Even though the story is in first 75% linear as hell it's climatic so it can have a pass.

But gameplay? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad- the piece of ♥♥♥♥ called rockstar should be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ashamed.

Technically it plays the same- you shoot you dodge stuff we all know from the classic prequels. Also they added a cover mechanic- and you better learn how to take advantage of it or you are gonna be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decimated! You can also jump over obstacles(you can't jump straight up)- strange but ok. No it's not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ okay there are plenty of obstacles that are obviously passable but they're not programmed to be jumped over- ridicoulous.

I was playing at medium difficulty (standard choice for every game that I play for the first time). And? And literally any enemy can can 3-shot you. I get it that devs might want to make this game more challenging than the predeccesors but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥- if that's your idea of MEDIUM than rockstar is officially retarded. Now, I wouldn't be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it- there are painkillers right? Yeah average 2 of them in a fight. And 2 of them can basically fully heal you. Problem is every encounter has at least a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dozen of enemies- you are gonna to be forced to use your pills anyway so next encounter you start with half HP no painkillers and you have to restart certain fights over and over again (game is so NICE that it will reset your health and ammo even give you additional painkillers to make the fight doable).

So basically game difficulty is artificially spiked out by sheer numbers. Good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ job rockstar. I don't even want to mention your stupid launcher thingy.

Also consistency is non existent. You die from literally 3 shots. I get it that some enemies have bullet-proof kevlars but for ♥♥♥♥♥ sake- how can anyone survive one and half magazine of dual wielded ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ uzis?! With 2-3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ headshots? The same enemies who seem always immortal can die from 2 bullets from single beretta pistol. If that's not ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up then nothing is.

Also there is second wind mechanic- when you die and have still some painkillers left you can revive yourself by killing the enemy who shot you. This is great but still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flawed. First- you HAVE TO kill this one guy who shot you. He is instantly killed with 1 bullet if you do okay I guess. But sometimes the aim gets ♥♥♥♥♥ and you can't even aim at the guy and you shoot to the floor/ceiling. Wtf rockstar?

Remember how in prequels you had an entire arsenal of weapons? Forget about that here- 2 one handed weapon which you can dual wield and 1 two-handed rifle. This would be cool but- when you akimbo you have to drop your rifle. I get it Max has only two hands but- you want me to tell me this guy can't put a gun on his back like in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of other shooter games?

And this weapon mumbo-jumbo wouldn't be a thing if not the previous point- you ARE going to get out of ammo situations plenty of times and if you do- well good luck you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥. You want to tell me I should be ammo conservative? IN A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MAX PAYNE GAME?!

Also laser sight make the aiming worse. How could you ♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥ that badly? Simple- rockstar=♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Sometimes there is a miniboss enemy. The guy who is even more bulletproof and rekts you even faster

Also game that is approximately 10h long has 3,5h of cutscenes. You are not even funny at this point rockstar

tl;dr- don't buy this ♥♥♥♥ it's like spitting on my massacred Maxie boy's face
