got the game after lunchtime, just wanted to check what it looks like ingame, suddenly it's dark outside and I have to force myself to quit the game and go to bed...

Great game, great fun. With friends in voice as well as strangers in chat. Once again this game proves that you don't need fancy graphics to enjoy a game. Also it is cross platform and free on mobiles, what more do you want :D
The only thing I would wish to be better is the friendlist. If they added some aliases to the random handles or even pictures (plus a history) so players actually remember who is who, that would be great. Friendlist like this is not much use imo.
But still, for this little money nothing can go wrong. 100/10 would buy again.

Some people are using many words to explain why they are disappointed with the game nowadays, I only need three: Pay to win.

DCUO used to be a great game, even I would recommend everyone to get the monthly subscription. It was a solid MMO in the DC Universe, which rocks especially if you've been a fan before playing. The mechanics were interesting, not really hard to play but the action combat is quite worth it. Dynamic and Groupplay were the most important factors.
However since TheybreakGames (Daybreak) took over the game, things got worse. Additional content was small and not really noteworthy, the story lost depth overall, player requests were ignored and most importantly it went full on pay to win!

Why is it pay to win? Easy, in DCUO you don't level up as part of the game, you will get to level 30, which is max, quite fast while just playing the main Story. Afterwards the game is all about playing higher tier content for better gear, thus upping your CR (Combat Rating) and doing feats (achievements) for Skill Points. Since long time players like me usually kept up with the release of new content and spent most of the time on max CR, only thing to do was grind SP (Skill Points).

That was basically the only thing worth doing, since SP make your character stronger. It was all fun and games until Time Capsules were released. Time Capsules are boxes that you can open with stabilizers (keys) you buy for real money, and those Time Capsules contain loads of feats. Simple math: Buy more Stabilizers = Open more Time Capsules = get more feats = get more SP than others who didnt want to spend more money other than the monthly sub on the game.

And yes, you can actually farm stabilizers ingame, which is timelocked but still possible (one every 3 days), BUT Time Capsules are only available for a limited time and it is impossible to get enough Stabilizers to unlock all the feats they contain without having to PAY for it.

It's sad to see the game being ruined, it was the best.
(I around 8k hours of playtime btw, almost never used the steam client thats why it shows less)

While I just played the game for half an hour, I still want to leave a review to discuss some points in other negative reviews that made me reconsider even giving the game a shot.
The game runs without problems, looks nice, got nice sound and overall visual effects, too. You are able to change the resolution and the shadow quality, where in my opinion "low" still looks really nice.
I am playing with a gamepad and this game works flawlessly, and the controls were easy to learn and adapt.
I never played the prequel, but I already like what I've seen from the story.

This game may or may not be like the first, that is not for me to judge. But everyone who is looking for a casual zombie/survival/roleplay/hack&slay game that can be played easily while using a controller and relaxing on the couch, you should take a look at How to Survive 2.

I will continue playing the story and discover what I will be able to do in my camp, once it is set up!

If you like action based combat shooters and story rich RPGs, this game is for you.
Bioshock Infinite combines those elements without neglecting any part. Nothing is left out, and it is a hell lot of fun to play through the story.
Normally I would not spend my precious time writing a game review but I was fascinated by how the story was put together, and the way it was made possible for me to experience it.
This game is definitely worth buying.
