Really, really gay. I mean that only as a descriptive term, as the protag himself identifies as homosexual. Interesting premise, but not for me. I recommend it, though, if you fantasize about cat-men doing things with guys. Also, based on the Japanese dialogue (I can't read Chinese, so it might be there, too) the protagonist is most definitely male; c.f. my first two sentences.
