Positive marks all around!
Right off, what makes this game really stand out are the very well designed wind and sailing mechanics.

It is VERY involved when it comes to sailing your vessel, it's one of those games where achieving simple tasks motivates you forward, something like the game My Summer Car - you know you are doing well if you are still alive after a couple hours.

This game 'requires' that you study a bit about sailing methods on the outside. Other than a few tips here and there, the game itself assumes that you are aware of at least the basic about sailing so it will help if you know the denominations of certain events and actions.

When it comes to gameplay loop the game is still barebones, at the moment it's conceptually a merchant/trading game, but aligned with the sailing mechanics and the quite alive and well designed world, the game feels pretty much complete already.
It will be interesting to see what this game develops into.

Rain World is a cruel and bleak place, its lore is well hidden and hard to understand even after hours of gameplay.

But, despite all that, you'll still feel you are always where you're supposed to be - no hand-holding, no flashy route indications, if you don't want to play the story as intended then go right ahead, the game won't stop you (its creatures probably will though).

The AI that runs the world and its creatures is impressive and the tech behind it is simple, yet beautiful.

The recent DLC 'Downpour' is also good proof the development team love and know their game. It feels finished, it feels well oiled and cohesive, it's everything a good DLC should be and more. It's as solid as the base game and it improves upon it in several aspects, both from a technical and narrative point of view.

You'll fail a lot, but that's just part of life's cycle.

This game tries its best to make you hate it.
And that's why I love it so much.

Everything relies on slow-paced interaction, it's on you to know what to do and how to do it, but the game ever-so-slightly lets you know if you are doing okay.

Content-wise it's masterful, this game will give you at least 40 hours of gameplay, visually it's also very on the cheek with the age it's trying to emulate - the late 90's - everything in it works and interacts with each other to create a seamless experience every time you replay it.

Great development, clean mechanics, beautiful graphics.

This is the result of a well oiled development team that remains treating this deceptively simple game like their lovechild.

And it shows, there are numerous gameplay combinations making a simple game session go through motions like you're reading a novel, you'll find yourself actually rooting for your victory and whatever happens losing a match is entirely your fault alone.

Personally this game is as timeless and unforgiven as chess.

A game that ironically doesn't seem to rust.

It's always fun to pick it up after a while, and the devs keep adding fun content.

I recommend it, even for it's price of 20€, it's the kind of game that will eventually pay itself off in gameplay and replayability.

The first game was already incredibly addicting and unforgettable.

This one builds upon the previous flaws and makes it the ultimate Doorkickers experience.
I would recommend buying it, even if you have played the original game to death.
This one is refreshing in many ways, the paths are smoother and the tweaks are streamlined for those who prefer 'Single Plan' missions.

It's really worthy, kudos to the dev team for improving on what was already perfect.

Once in a while there comes a game that just has it all, graphics, sound design, gameplay, immersion, etc

A great game with rogue-like elements that will keep you playing long after you've mastered the basics.
The replay value can only be surpassed by the intricate lore and story interactions.

It's worth the asking price, any minor bugs I've encountered haven't ruined my gameplay.

If you are keen on playing a clunky game that is trying to do something that has been done before and better than be sure to get this one.
The game does not incite the player to play it like the devs wanted, and that's not the player's fault. That's on the devs.

Skip this one. You're not missing out.

I'm really picky about the games I choose to dive into.
They must make me feel immersed.
They must make me sweat.
They must give me content far beyond its description.
They must be overwhelming to understand and grasp at.

That kind of game has a name now,
Barotrauma.

Best WWII arcade/simulator FPS I've played in a while.

Fresh spawn mechanics and perfect role distribution.
