It has many problems but it does things that I haven't really seen in IF before, which surprised me because I expected to hate it.

There are a few moments in particular where the choices you make feel like abstract puzzles where you really need to put yourself in the protagonist's position to figure out what to do, and there are a few other choices that feel very ambiguous and really make you feel a certain tension of being unsure how you're gonna do something that will help the main character.

Sadly, most of the choices feel more like clear cut decisions, where you have the obviously right choice, and some other options that could only lead to the protagonist being led down a worse path. There really should have been more work on the prose--properly unreliable narration would have done wonders for this game.

Overall, the game offers a glimpse of just how good IF can be, but it makes a lot of mistakes typical of the genre.

Doesn't really make me excited for the future of authors making text adventures. These kinds of games need to be more than choose-your-own-adventure stories. This sort of extreme bare-bones style isn't made more interesting by the fact that you no longer have to flip through constantly to get to each choice.
