Just finished Starship Troopers Terran command, got to say that's the most I've enjoyed a RTS game in ages and the first one ive actually finished the campaign for in a while.

Would you like to know more?

Very much recommended if your a fan of Starship Troopers, thematic with gameplay that style suits the universe really well, its all about getting well positioned lines of grunts so that they can shoot up the bugs in a hail of bullets, the reinforce mechanic works well allowing you to take casualties but keep experienced squads alive. The unit types feel on point, well balanced, compliment each other and even later game the bog standard infantry unit still has its place. Each has special abilities that need to be carefully times in their usage to not be overwhelmed by bugs.

If your after the next multiplayer RTS thats all about clicking and reaction speed then this isn't for you (theres no multiplayer as of writing) its instead a steady relaxed single player challenge for you to enjoy, theres a few levels that are very well designed and leave you wondering how to overcome a horde of bugs with two squads for example.

There's a few quality of life elements missing, you cant queue up orders, which occasionally might mean you have to manage a unit more carefully so as to take a safer route, and units don't have any target prioritization so you also have to manage this manually. Personally I don't mind this, it as a nice balance to the game play and keeps you hooked in the action with a mild sense of panic during a bug attack.

I think the price is reasonable given its based of the Starship Troopers IP and you get several good evenings worth of game-play, I think it took 17 hours for me in total. I expect there will DLC bringing more campaigns in the future and as long as they are priced reasonably then I'll pick them up as the game mechanics work well.
