Boomer shooter DNA + POSTAL's humour and bizarreness + polished and addictive gameplay = I regret nothing.

I played the pre-release versions for a long enough while to know that Viscerafest is an absolute banger of a title. It's one of those trial-and-error sorts of titles that you keep playing until you nail that run of a level. The combat is stylish and addictive, though challenging and demanding due to the sparsity of ammo, but this works in its favour as it encourages you to ration and utilise powerful melee attacks in between bunny-hopping and memorising the attack patterns of the many deadly enemies. Plus, the protagonist is a sadistical but loveable lass with an award-winning smile. Additional points go to its nifty art style, the varied layouts and cool designs of its levels, and Michael Markie's great OST. Can't wait for the full release!

The polar opposite of Euro-jank. Slick controls, unsettling ambience, quick-paced combat and great level designs in a unique setting (an oppressive Socialist regime with drab colours and unremarkable architecture), and some crazy enemies (horses in gas masks!) makes this a keeper. Endless mode is an added bonus, and adds plenty of replay-ability that really sweetens the pot.

Janky as all heck but there's potential for it to turn out as a pimped-up version of Postal 2 in ways. It still has the silly humour, some wacky weapons and that satisfying feeling of knowing that you ruined a lot of people's days. If you're a fan and wanna support the devs, swipe up the game, mess around a bit, and just wait it out until some serious patches roll along. Or, if you have the patience, play around some more and send as much feedback as possible to the devs, as they're working a lot on patches and content.

It's far from finished, but... that goes without saying, so it'd be unfair to critique it harshly in this state. There's definitely some clever ideas and a bit of joy to be had with spewing vomit in faces and popping prisoners' heads off with a shotgun.

Imaginative weapons, vibrant colours, satisfying combat, devious levels with some eye-catching designs and geometry, an awesome wave mode, and a cheat that lets you emit a mighty burp. AMID EVIL is a fantastic entry in the fantasy FPS genre, and is well worth a buy.

(There, I gave you guys a positive review. Now hand over my family, and don't try and trick me again by saying my dad always was sack of potatoes with a smiley face drawn in crayon on the front. It won't work a second time, Dave!)

Think of it as a tag-team mode with Shantae's friends, where you need to use certain abilities to progress at a slower pace than the base game. Collecting gems to upgrade attacks is a nifty idea, but not only are the new collectables worth swiping since they give nothing more than an achievement, the difficulty is so irritating. Everyone shares the same health meter, and only one character can heal them. However, everyone has a different special meter. If you stumble into a boss battle without full-health, you're gonna struggle. It's linear, unlike Pirate Queen's Quest DLC, and it just isn't that funny.

Unpolished, uninteresting, and unfair. Don't bother.

Dark, gritty, and, at times, genuinely disturbing and thought-provoking. While the campaign is simple enough - if they want you dead, kill them - there's plenty of great content here.

Want to challenge yourself? Slaughter everyone in every level. Or, crank it up to Hard mode and don't kill any innocents whatsoever. Feel competitive? Try out the very addictive Rampage mode and score big points by racking up big combos, executing the weak, getting set on fire and running into people, etc. Then there's co-op mode and deathmatch, too.

A must-have for top-down shooters, POSTAL fans, and anyone with a spine that isn't made of cardboard.

[Rating: Four Dopefishes out of Five.] Despite its troubled release, Bombshell has been vigirously polished to become a damn fun game.

Some may frown at its hit-and-miss writing and voice work, as well as the occasional bug still lingering. Its side-quests and arena mini-game leave a little to be desired, too.

On the flip-side, it has some fantastic graphics and very well animated cut-scenes. Andrew Hulshult's music is a work of genius, with a movie-like soundtrack for cutscenes, creepy ambience for the calm before the storm, and some awesome action-packed tracks that deserve a place on your music player.

Its light-RPG mechanics are a nice touch, adding some more meat to the great combat. The shotgun, minigun, RPG and such are given some exotic names with oodles of great upgrades, from electrical blasts to stun enemies to multi-bombs for your homing Bowling Bombs (my favourite weapon). Combined with the special moves like the bubble shield and ground pound, it can make for some deadly combinations in battle.

The planets may seem a little stock at first, with a fire, ice and steel theme, but they make for some great exploration and look very well-designed. The ice planet has to be the best; you'll be having to dodge the icy pools, taking a merry boat ride, and plundering ancient ruins and icy plains for something to steal...or kill.

Interceptor really hit it out of the park with this one, especially thanks to the fixes and free content added alongside (Challenging "Shellshock" VR missions, a la Metal Gear Solid: Special Missions? Count me in!). Problems like unskippable executions and dialogue scenes no longer exist, either.

Snag it while you can, especially during a sale. It's great stuff.

Wacky, politically incorrect fun. Shadow Warrior may be a bit rough around the edges due to some difficulty spikes and questionable design choices, but the consistently brilliant level design, kick-ass weapons, amazing Asian-inspired soundtrack, and hilarious protagonist make it a must-try FPS. The same can be said about the port, which gives everything a well-needed face-lift and packs in the brilliant add-ons, too.
