Incredibly addicting demo, will live or die on content and how crazy devs go with ball combinations. Easy day 1 purchase for me.

Really enjoyed roguelike genre mashed up with Patapon gameplay. Do want more UI customization: you have to pay attention to Ratatan in a world, while also making sure you hit beat, while also looking at what boss is doing in usually far right, while also managing HP and hustlebar in topleft - everything is all over the place.

But very solid demo overall.

Look at the hours played. For me while writing this it's at 1341 hours, but it's gonna be much more. I'm playing it while writing this review.

ONI is a perfect game for me to put away for a time, and then return after a while to experience it all again. If you love management sims: this game is perfect fit for you. If you are unsure if you like them, you'll still get your money worth. There is no loss scenario, you can't go wrong by buying it.

I do recommend getting this DLC after base game gets too repetitive, but there are few caveats.

First, while rocketry imo is an improvement over base game, it doesn't carry Spaced Out version of a campaign. I did enjoy a new rocket platform system, but I don't see an appeal for a fragmented SO design of planetary system.

Second, radiation is a massive letdown. No aspect involving radiation tech seems interesting or valuable to pursue.

Third, additional species of flora and fauna are ranging from flavor to a resource negative. Balancing is all over the place.

Overall it's a direction for a game, and I do like the idea, but this version really needs more balancing and content to recommend it.

Good netcode, gameplay simple on surface, hard to master, but still easy to understand unlike previous titles, some gripes with server performance. I'm in a minority, but I do enjoy online lobby design somewhat.

EDIT: after Season 4 were suddenly blocked after supporting this game and community for years, I cannot recommend this game anymore.

Got PTSD from it, 10 out of 10

Pretty sure this adorable game cured my crippling depression.

It's fun, it's short, it's free, and you should experience it. Saying anything beside that would be spoilers and degrade your time with it
