Very good yuri game. If you need content warnings, peep them here: gaslighting, suicide, abuse, stalking, mind control

On that note: this game's bad ends get very dark and add a lot of fun flavor to the characters, something lacking in not only yuri games, but a lot of route-based games in general.

Similarly, most routes will show you different facets of every other character, which is a good motivator to play the other routes, to see more of your faves. Some of my best girl's best moments weren't even on her route.

However, you can avoid most of the worst of this by playing only the normal and good ends. I personally feel you miss a lot of flavor this way, but it's a valid way to play the game.

The cast has great chemistry, and I enjoyed every one of them. Unlike later yuri entries by Kogado like Nurse Love Addiction and Yumeutsutsu, I don't feel there are any major losers. The secret Mayuki route and the route with Ami the highschooler may be a bit offputting to some, but they are completely optional, as is Yamanouchi's.

Something really nice about this game is that all the characters feel fairly fleshed out, and they have their own issues and motivations they're working through. They are all pretty quickly head-over-heels for the main character, Kaori, but they feel like actual people you could meet.

The original cast (Nagisa, Hatsumi, Sayuri💞) all have extended routes from the RE:Therapy release, and coupled with the rather long common route, this game has some serious meat on it for what it is. That said, I don't feel it overstays its welcome either. It does get a bit long-winded and dramatic, but it stays a lot more grounded and succinct than Nurse Love Addiction, if that put you off. (Both great games, and I love NLA dearly!)

As a lesbian, I was very happy to see that the love is stated outright, they don't dance around the issue, no subtext. The girls love each other. Men exist but only one has a sprite, and it is hilariously lower quality than the others. The character is also voiced by the voice of Kazuma Kiryu which is funny as hell.

There is ecchi, and sexual references, but no sex scenes, and no visible nudity. 15+.

This game was written by two nurses, and it shows. It goes very in depth, to a sometimes unnecessary degree. I absolutely love that!

I'm not kidding when I say this game changed my life. I played it at a very rough time in my life, and it got me through some very dark moments. I have never felt so deeply attached to a game and its cast like this one. It motivated me to finally start actually trying to learn Japanese, so I can read and translate the supplemental material for this game, and over two years later, I'm still working towards that goal.

I cannot promise it will infect your brain like a parasitic slug like it did mine, but you should definitely try it! It's a very solid game! If you like screwed up lesbians, play this! Then play Nurse Love Addiction and Yumeutsutsu, BUT PLEASE PLAY THIS FIRST I'M SO LONELY I NEED MORE FANS.

Bye!

I have been urged to give this game another shot after the updates and reworks, and lemme tell ya! It has gotten worse! I have spent as much time troubleshooting this game as I have playing it, which sucks, because it's still really fun in spite of the problems, but I can't recommend it in good faith in its wholly broken state right now. I was able to play older builds for much longer, but now I can only play as little as 10 minutes.

I played the original free version of this back in the day, I was happy to see a remake for one of my favorite VNs! It's still very short, but the new graphics and the voice acting really add to the experience. The bonus little vignettes with the girls was also a very welcome addition, it was nice to see them have a good day!

If you enjoy yandere characters, this has a free English patch available on Itch.io, and I do recommend grabbing it, it was fairly well done.

I was skeptical, but excited for this game. JSRF is one of the biggest games from my childhood, and it has long occupied a special, exclusive place in my heart. I honestly didn't think this game could measure up.

Thankfully I was wrong. If you're going into this expecting a straight clone of JSR or JSRF, this is not that. It is a blend of what made both games good, with a lot of cruft removed. It absolutely has the look, feel, and soul of the series, however.

I was extremely wary of the graffiti minigame when I saw it, as I did not like it in JSR, but it has been refined and feels smooth, fast, and satisfying.

The movement in this game isn't quite JSR or JSRF, but that's perfectly fine, there's a bit of a learning curve, but if you're used to JSR/JSRF's, you'll adapt quickly and be right at home. The first time I accidentally found a hidden alcove with a graffiti spray in it, I knew I was gonna have fun.

I'll be real, I haven't been huge into games lately. I haven't purchased a game new in years, with very few exceptions. I generally buy games on sale at a deep discount and play them when I get around to it. I downloaded this for Switch when it came out, then almost immediately turned around and bought the full thing, soundtrack, DLC and all on Steam.

I then proceeded to beat the game in 2 days. I'm currently working on 100% completion. It's been a while since a game has captured me like this. I will absolutely proceed to buy physical copies when they come out, and I'll buy it again on consoles just to 100% it again. I've been having an absolute blast with it.

You can tell the game was made by people who love the series, and more crucially, do not idolize the series, and understand what made it great, and what made it suck ♥♥♥♥ at times. There is respect but not reverence, and Team Reptile was willing to change ♥♥♥♥ that didn't work, or didn't work well. As I said, it's not a clone of either game, but it feels right at home as a pseudo-sequel. The style, humor, tone, and general feel of JSRF is alive and well. In a lot of ways, it is more polished than JSRF was, you have three modes of movement, and they all look and feel great.

Unfortunately, not everything can be perfect. Overall, the game is very polished, but one place it falls painfully short is tutorials. There are mandatory tutorials for very basic movement, which is all well and good, but once you get out of the basic stuff, you're more or less left twisting in the wind. There are plenty of things that are intuitive to me as a long-time JSRF player, but they would be utterly lost on a new player. Furthermore, and much more importantly, there are lots of new techniques, rules, tricks, etc that are absolutely not taught to the player in any way. I didn't know I could break the gridded glass with a boost. The way there's a door, made me think I needed to complete a challenge or something later in the level to open it.

I didn't realize I could, until way later in the game when you're required to do it during story missions. The game is similarly lacking this kind of polish for a lot of things. I went the entire game not knowing how to use the fast travel system, because I didn't take the last line of the unlock dialog literally.

Don't get me wrong, though, for a first showing at this kind of game in two decades, this is an absolutely insane showing. This has definitely already achieved classic status with me, and I look forward to replaying it for years to come. This is an excellent game, and I've been waiting for it for years.

The soundtrack is standout, again, not quite a direct clone of JSR or JSRF, but a complementary mix. It works great, it elicits the same feeling I had when I booted up a friend's Xbox and heard "Funky Dealer" playing the first time. Hideki Naganuma's works are obviously right at home here, but all the other songs are similarly excellent. I look forward to listening to the OST on repeat.

If you're still reading this, if you liked JSR or JSRF, just buy it.

Nominate this for GOTY

Pretty solid shooter, rather short. Runs on id Tech and isn't shy about it, aesthetics, gameplay, etc are very familiar, if you enjoyed Doom 3 and Quake 4 this will scratch that itch perfectly.

Adaptive difficulty with no real fail state, so very forgiving and approachable if you're new to shooters or struggle with them.

Game has nudity, violence, gore, body horror, insensitive language towards Native Americans, yet has a profanity setting for some reason.

A fine example of the best and worst simultaneously in a series.

Absolute best gameplay, top notch, refined and polished to a mirror shine. Accessible, yet deep, addictive, absolutely a ton of fun.

However, it is probably the worst story in a Metal Gear Solid game. Konami rushed Hideo, and it shows. A truly depressing end to a great saga.

Still absolutely worth your time, a fantastic stealth game.

This was one of the best games I played in 2016. I normally wait a year or so until I purchase most mainstream games, but after 10 minutes with the demo, I bought it immediately.

Just try the demo, you'll see.

A final nail in the coffin for the old Valve. Why make new games when you can just cajole your community into making content for a few old ones until the end of time?
