Wow... this game was just a straight up mind-f**k. Like what....? The story lacks specific details, and that's what makes it great. It leaves the players with a story that they can interpret, not that the game interprets for you. If you are about to purchase this game, please LISTEN UP: whatever you put into this game, that's what you will get out it. You could probably beat this game within 10 minutes if you knew exactly what to do before hand. THIS GAME IS MEANT FOR EXPLORING!!!!! I hate gamers who like to cut corners, because they always miss out on the true depths and lessons that are hidden throughout the stories they play through. Just let the game do it's thing, and your mind interpret the rest. Anyway, I don't wanna ruin anything whatsoever, I would even suggest you stop reading these reviews because of potential spoilers. So just buy the damn game! I can honestly say that it was 100% worth my time.

Don't get me wrong, this game is pretty good... just not for PC. Playing Tengami on a PC makes it really obvious that it is a ported game from mobile platforms. I believe that this game is good on Android and iOS devices, but that it is not that suiting for the PC platform. Overall, the game is neat and creative, and it has an interesting graphical interface, but does lack details story-wise, and at times it can become very tedious / boring, especially when having to walk around. I found that on PC, when I tried to click on something, sometimes it wouldn't register, and I would have to spam left click until it worked. If this game seems interesting to you, then I would encourage you purchase it, but not here on Steam, rather on the Android or iOS Application Stores, on a mobile device. This game was developed specifically for mobile gaming, and the devs put a port up on Steam just for the sake of trying to make a little bit more cash.

This game...... it's one of a kind. For some reason, I always expect these kind of platformers to be the same, jump around in a side-scrolling world, and kill enemies... basically a Mario game. But when I read on their offical website that they took the bases of Zelda and other retro games, and used them to inspire the creation of Ori, I knew had to play this game. Not because of my crazy love of Zelda, but because of the way they wrote about how it inspired them. That is something I completely understand. When I loaded up the game, I found not just another platformer, but a game with the most gorgeous artwork for texturing, and a beautifully orchestrated soundtrack. When a player sees and hears that, just from the start menu, you know an enormous amount of effort went into the creation of this game. And once you play this game... well, its an experience like no other. At first the game mechanics confused me, like the abilty to save only when you had enough resources, but after a very well thought out gameplay introduction, it began to make a lot more sense. What is even more lovely about this game, is that you don't have to learn everything all at once; the farther you progress into the game, the more you master your abilities, and then a new ability is presented to you. This is great because you can be sure by the time you reach the end of the game, you will know how to use Ori's powers inside and out.

Now, for those who are skeptical about buying this game, I understand. $20 is a lot of money to spend on Steam, especially on just one game. To you I say, please, watch this playthrough that I recorded of me playing though Ori. It doesn't reveal too much, only the intro and a few other cut scenes, but trust me you will want to watch those again yourself anyways. And after watching, if you still don't want to pay that much, at least put this game into your wishlist, for it will inevitably will go on sale sometime.

And lastly, I say many thanks to the creators of this game, who put more effort than I could imagine into its' creation.

This game really tugged at my heartstrings. I have only played Episode One, and already, I have been fully immersed into the story and gameplay. This whole time travel concept is one like I have never seen before, and it is used in such a way that it makes the Life Is Strange experience unique to anything else I have ever played. I urge you, right now, to buy at least Episode One, and experience this incredible adventure for yourself. Still not convinced? Watch my Indie Showcase on Life Is Strange here: https://youtu.be/Bqpinj7xdic

If that doesn't convince you, nothing will.

UPDATE: 1/12/2016 - I have bought, and played through all of the episodes since I began in July 2015. I can truly say that this shows the real potential in video game storytelling, and deserves a spot next to other critically acclaimed games like The Last of Us and Tomb Raider 2013 & 2015. Amazing job Square Enix and Dontnod. I am more a fan than ever before, and I really hope to see more brilliant work from you all in the future.

And if you do end up playing this game after you read this, here's one really good piece of advice: Seriously, choose wisely...

UPDATE: 11/23/2016 - I have nominated this game for the “I'm Not Crying, There's Something In My Eye” Award. I really did cry at the end of this game, it truly was beautiful and had a big emotional impact on me.

UPDATE: 3/3/2019 - I am replaying LiS Season 1 with my girlfriend. After all these years, this game has held up graphically and emotionally extremely well. I am impressed with how different the feel of the game is when someone else is making the choices. It's almost like a new story all together. I look forward to playing Season 2 once it's finished.

Wow. This game is straight up hilarious. I had one of the most enjoyable FPS experiences while playing Murder MIners with my friends. There is SO much for you to do, in such a seemingly small game. It's only $1.99. Please buy this game and make your friends buy it too. It is so worth it. If this review won't change your mind, then please, check out my Indie Showcase of Murder Miners on YouTube. I'm sure that'll convince you of what a great game this is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRfXN6LOYNQ

Lots of great comedic moments, and overwhelmingly great gamepley mechanics, make for an awesome experience. The only thing I would suggest, is to play it with a friend, or many, it makes the overall experience even better. Please check out my Indie Showcase on YouTube if your still on the line about this game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmN-xiT7u8U

This game is great, very elegant, simple, and most certainly surprising. With the time I've had to play it, there has been both satisfying and frustrating moments. But the entire experience was enjoyable. For anyone craving a simple, yet time consuming, indie game, this is the one for you. If your still on the line about getting it, go check out my Indie Showcase video of it on YouTube, I'm sure it will change your mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYpjVqtvANo
