wonderfully written, the language and the story are both phenomenal

this is a true gem, that truly shines the brightest when you get totally lost in it. i don't know any other game made with such immersion in mind

Counter-Strike is undoubtedly the king of FPS games - however, the lack of significant updates, which reintroduce content that was already in the game before (CSGO), for more than a year after release, makes the game feel almost abandoned. This is not CSGO, where the devs could go months without updates and still keep the community satisfied because of a fully developed product. This game is a shell of what it used to be, and leaving it in such a lacking state for so long is a disgrace to the franchise's history and its community. If it were a standalone game, sure — you could say it's alright. But comparing it to the near-perfect state the game was in before the launch of CS2, I would not feel comfortable recommending it.
