I have to say, I had heard good things for years, and when the price dropped to around 20€, I knew I had to try the game out for myself and see if any of it was true. Turns out, it pretty much was.

I can immediately say as well that this game will not be everyone's cup of tea. I just so happen to be in the perfect intersection of people who like turn-based RPGs with unique battle mechanics (the One-More system, the Baton Pass, exploiting enemy Weaknesses and making use of Technical hits was a blast) and enjoying mundane tasks of slice of life like hanging out with friends, studying in your free time, going out to buy guns (wait, what). If you're only into one of these two sides of the game, then I might still recommend you try the game, as the experience gives you a pretty good balance between being a Phantom Thief, sneaking around Palaces, stealing Treasure and fighting Shadows, and being a normal highschool kid with some surprising connections. If you're into neither, then this game might not be for you, and looking at the price of admission when you don't even know if you'll enjoy is certainly daunting, but I'd still recommend it all the same.

Truly, this is one of those experiences you can only have once, even better if you're going in blind, like I myself did. And, if you are, I recommend you don't worry too much about unlocking everything your first time around. Have fun the way you want to, hangout with the characters you want to, and just have fun (if you do not hang out with Haru, however, I will find you).

I'm really trying to contain myself from just spoiling everything and gushing about the game. All in all, it's a recommend from me.

I waited 8 years for this game.

It was worth the wait.

I first came across Momodora 3 on Steam back in December 2015 and, after playing it for a bit, I fell in love and decided to search up Momodora 1 and 2. While they were fun, they didn't feel the same as 3, but I beat them and went back to 3 to finish it. 3 months later, Reverie Under the Moonlight comes out and I played the hell out of that one, the combat felt great and it looked great too, with music that really fit the melancholic feel of the game.

And now here, we are, Momodora 5. What a fun game. Only thing I wish we could have gotten was a playable Dora, even if it were just Dora's sprites instead of Momo's with the exact same animations and nothing else, that would have been fun. Getting to fight her like that after the story was over was fun though, definitely the hardest fight in the game by a long shot. When she first did that multi slash attack, I was like a fangirl, just screaming because she was just so cool (plus, the gun Dora was just too funny).

This is obviously not really a review, I'm rambling too much and jumping too much between talking about the game and other things, but that's because I'm not here to review the game. I'm here to thank rdein and the rest of the people who worked to make this game a reality. I assume your goal when making this game was creating something that you guys would find fun and that the players would have fun with. While I can't really know how you feel, I can tell you how I feel: I had fun, and that's all that matters, right?

Ah, finally, almost 2 years after I left my first impressions of the demo on the Discussions page, I've finally made time to start playing this beautiful game.

Although I've just barely gotten past the part that was originally in the demo, I truly believe the advice of a certain Someone Who Gets What He Deserves is truly sound advice for the game (and just life):

"Let's imagine yer say "blue" and there's these three guys. The first one, who lives by the sea, reckons yer talking about water. The second one, who lives on a mountain peak, thinks of the sky. And the third one becomes sad, just because."

Our words (or constellations) always have consequences in Grotto, no matter how good our intentions might be. One's own experiences taint out perspective on many things. Best we can do is hope the meaning is delivered properly.

So far, loving the experience, and I don't regret finally supporting the creators of this beautiful game.

Very fun platformer, amazing artstyle, on par with the one used in Origins if not better, absolutely stellar soundtrack. I will be honest though, playing through the Back to Origins levels can be a slog if you already played Origins before, since it's just the same levels as before. That wouldn't be too bad if the Mosquito levels weren't back as well. Say what you want, I find the Mosquito levels to be dreadful compared to the rest of the game. Also Sea of Serendipity sucks compared to every other world from BtO.

Genuinely cannot comprehend why Ubisoft hasn't made more Rayman games since this one. Seriously, they basically created the UbiArt engined specifically for this and never made more Rayman games.

This is what I would call a true classic. A game that founded it's own identity and stuck with it ever since it released in 2007. A true bastion of what an online experience can be. You rarely see games with such a large playerbase 13 years after its launch and that alone should tell you all you need to know about this game.

An amazing experience, an absolute masterpiece for both its ingenious puzzle design and its amazing humor. And also one of the best kind of hidden stories videogames have had on offer in years.

I genuinely reccomend that everyone play Portal 2 at least once, it's another amazing game made by the creators of Half-Life and deserves to be played.

If you want a reason to waste money,at least waste it on the soundtrack. It's not great but at least it's better than the game.If you want an actual review of the game,go read the review of some YouTuber or just read other reviews.I'm here to give some advice.DON´T.BUY.THIS.GAME.UNLESS.YOU.WANT.THE.MUSIC.

The game is quite difficult and it has a tendency to throw you into situations where you have to spam your way to victory. It has some elements of parkour and some from fighting games. The story isn't anything to write home about, but seems to take a lot of queues from anime like Welcome to the NHK and such, it really likes making references to other anime. Overall, not a terrible experience considering the low asking price. 6/10.
