As a big-time Sonic fan, I admit that throughout the entire series, there really hasn't been a "perfect" Sonic game. The games I'd consider to be my favorites always have at least one glaring issue with them, whether it be a lack of polish or brain-dead game design. Although with Shadow Generations, I was genuinely blown away. It's fun- really fun, and a damn well polished game. I can confidently say that this is my new favorite Sonic game. 10/10

Also Sonic Generations is there, I guess.

Sonic Mega Collection is better

After fully playing through the main campaign, I can say that this game is... alright. It isn't a horrible game, but it isn't really the best game ever.

The game starts out strong, good music, interesting/fun level design, but slowly deteriorates over time. The music starts to turn into something straight from Sonic 4, level design begins to get cluttered and outright unfair at points, that's not even mentioning the bosses.

The bosses take FOREVER to get passed, and even just to do a single hit to one is a pain in the ass sometimes. They aren't hard really (except for the Cyber Station boss and Final Boss), but take forever to defeat.

The music is 50/50, most of it is pretty good, the other half is Jun Senoue. Jun Senoue really needs to get back on that guitar man, he literally cannot do Genesis-esque music. Music is subjective though, it's okay if you like it.

The main gimmick of the game are the emerald powers (I forgot what they were called), and they're just alright. The powers are decent, but sometimes I forget they even exist, I played through the entire game not even using them, which speaks volumes on how under-utilized they feel. In terms of the special stages? They're pretty good, interesting, not the best thing ever, but way better than the half-pipes or Blue Spheres (sorry Blue Spheres fans).

Sonic Superstars is a decent little game, but I found it hard to replay past zones, or to finish Trip's story, as the game isn't that engaging or interesting passed the first few zones that the game offers. Don't buy the game for the full $60, trust me this isn't worth the money, wait for a price cut or a sale.

I feel that this game had potential, but SEGA ended up rushing out a clearly unfinished, short game.

Do not buy this game at it's current price, wait for a discount or a price cut.
