The game is close enough to the books (and movies) that new players familiar with Tolkien's works will feel at home, while it also has all the elements of a full MMORPG. The learning curve is long but not too steep, with more advanced game elements introduced gradually. But speaking of gradual, the game is best suited for players with time on their hands. It is not entirely a compliment when I call it "the world's best medieval travel simulator" - going places is atmospheric but time-consuming.
