The game is great. But it is short. For fans of OG RE3, I still recommend it. For everyone else I guess wait for a discount. Unless you like asymmetrical 1v4 games like RE:Resistance thats bundled with this game, which is pretty much the reason for the full $60 price tag, and possibly the reason for some of the cut content too.

The game would've been perfect for me if it was just 2 more hours longer. It needs 2 more locations tbh.
My thoughts on the game, and listing some of the changes/differences too, though I may miss some.

May contain spoilers

- Disappointed that there's so little of Downtown Raccoon that you actually explore. The area is too small and got me wanting more.
- RPD stuff is actually longer than the OG, theres a bit more thing to do, and it really ties in with RE2. So thats pretty good.
- Some are replaced with new ones, like the ground crumbling bit near city hall where you have to activate switches and climb up while avoiding the gravedigger, now combined with substation.
- Some others kinda fine like the city hall pathway.
- Speaking of substation, no early magnum here.
- The gas station is just a set piece.
- No newspaper office
- Mikhail's scene became more epic. Nikholai more an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ than a proper villain. Kendo's appearance was as brief as RE2.
- Also not sure what to feel on what they did to Brad. But his character is definitely better now. Wish he had more screen time.
- Definitely bummed by the cut out clocktower. Well its there, but no exploration, just an arena
- No running to the hospital as Carlos, its just fade to black and its the hospital.
- No puzzle in the hospital, the vaccine synthesizing moved towards the end instead and its really easy.
- Hospital only consists of 2 floors, so no elevator rides or surprises.
- There's the C4 scene in the hospital, but for different purpose.
- From the hospital straight to the final area. No Raccoon Park. Which is a bummer. Instead we get a sewer section in the early part.
- I feel that there's actually less zombies in one area in the Remake compared to the original.
- Disposal plant replaced with NEST. So it has the same ending vibe as RE2
- Jill gets a really badass moment near the end at least
- No option for Barry ending. No multiple endings, no branching paths at all, which is a shame.
- Game is a bit heavy on set pieces
- Game is pretty easy on normal, very easy on assisted, hardcore is the "normal" RE3 difficulty (the OG only have Hard and Easy as a choice), and then there are two unlockable difficulty afterwards, which have different enemy placements, this adds to replayability.
- In game shop item after finishing the first playthrough also adds to replayability. Items from the shop is pretty much needed to S rank the higher difficulties.
- This game makes me want another Remake for RE1, with the new OTS cameras and better characterization.

Overall I love the R3make but it just left me wanting a bit more story and location wise. I guess what I can do is just play 3 up until clock tower, stop there and start RE2, finish AB, continue 3. Guess that'll get my RE fix during the quarantine.

Having missed the chance buying the Prepare to Die version of the game, I'd say this is a worthy purchase.

As everyone said, game is challenging but fair. Though there are some wonky/clunky aspects to it. Like the map modelling and character physics. Sometimes it looks like you can walk there just fine just to end up sliding off to your death. Your character sometimes wont be able to move up a small step if you're are walking, but are able to if you're running. This is really bad in places like blighttown.

Interesting explorations in the first half of the game, you dont have any method of fast travel until the second half (though it's still pretty limited) making finding and unlocking shortcuts very important. Reminds me of old survival horror games. It can be somewhat time consuming especially if you didn't manage to find the shortcuts. The areas are well designed, and they're filled with enough interesting stuff that I didn't get bored real quick going back and forth through them in the first half.

Most of the boss fights are challenging, while still being fair. And even if its hard at first, you can either try again and again until you get their attack patterns, or summon NPC (for some bosses, if you interacted with said NPC that will help) or a friend (if you have one that plays the game, unlike me) or you can farm enough souls to level up and make it easier, at least in your first NG. Most of the bosses have interesting designs and fights, but there are some that are a bit meh. One of the meh boss I'd say is ceaseless discharge (but he does have an interesting lore).

Combat is satisfying, even after having played DkS3 & 2, Bloodborne, and Sekiro, the combat is still fun in its own way. It doesn't have the omnidirectional roll when locked on, but you'll learn to fight without lock on and you can roll anywhere just fine. I prefer the poise mechanic here vs DkS3, as you wont get staggered by a knife wielding hollow in your Havel set. And the combat speed is just right for the type of combat.

Online stuff, the note system is an interesting way to interact online. I've been helped a lot by notes left by other players, whether they are secret paths, hidden bonfires, tough enemies, they are helpful. Haven't fell for the the troll notes yet other than the illusory wall ones. PVP, not a fan of it in general. And the netcoding is pretty bad from my experience in DkS3, only had 2 PVP interaction in this one so can't say much about it.

Graphics, for a remaster, is a bit disappointing, but at least I didn't own the previous version on PC or played it on last gen consoles. So I won't complain much. No setting to customize either. At least there's options for high refresh rate monitors now, and the anti-aliasing they used seems to be TAA as they don't look like the ones on their other titles. Also for other settings they added the option to fully customize the controls for gamepads, like in their newer titles, which is nice.

TLDR it's a good game with satisfying combat and a bit of clunky stuff because it's old.

Early Access Review
- Zombie survival, crafting, and tower defence. Pretty much sums up this game.

- It has minecraft-like block based building, with physics. So building too tall with the wrong materials can make your buildings fall on top of you.

- With the latest update you can continously upgrade your base, from wood to steel blocks, if you have the materials needed. Basically you can take a random log cabin and slowly upgrade it into a steel fortress.

- A good variety of zombies from the regular walkers to ones that climb up your walls. Zombies run at night time (depending on the setting) so be careful when outside after sun down. Activities like base building will build up your heat map and will attract Screamer Zombies that will call out a horde if not dealt with. 7th day horde is also a good challenge for players as a horde of hungry zombies attacks randomly picked player base at the 7th night, where the moon shines blood red.

- Decent weapons mechanic, a bit clunky but it works. Starter weapons usually are the player crafted bow and arrows. Items have different qualities depending on player levels.

- Quests has been added in the recent patch, adding more variety to the gameplay. The quest also set up a pretty decent tutorial on crafting and basic survival.

- Lots of active server, and also offers a PVP and PVE options. The game also has modded servers which have bots monitoring and prevents hacking. Overall nice experience with a good community.

- The game is constantly being updated so it's worth your money. With the next patch they're planning on adding NPCs. You can follow the development on the author's tumblr http://joelhuenink.tumblr.com/

- Overall, it's a fun game to play with friends.
