I really do not recommend this game.
The graphics in this game are really very good, and the map is made absolutely gorgeous - a huge respect for the designers of the environment.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing more to praise the game. I will try to objectively describe all of its cons.

1) Physics. It is absolutely terrible. If you fly at a small rock at a speed of 70-80 km / h, you can fly into the air 100 meters and roll over 15 times. There will be no visual damage to the car. But if at the same speed you fly into a road sign, then you will receive fatal damage.

2) Co-driver. It is unbearable as much as the physics in this game. The co-driver's AI is made terribly. He shouts about sharp turns only when you have almost passed the turn. Sometimes he shouts to turn right, but the navigator shows that you need to go straight. If you are stuck in the mud and got out of the car to dig out the wheels, he will stand next to the car and say that you do not have time to look at the flowers.

3) Treasure hunt mode. Again, the idea is good, the implementation is bad. Firstly, the places where you were and the paths along which you traveled are not marked on the map. Secondly, the treasures themselves on some maps are very difficult to find, because they are poorly visible or because they have spawned not clearly where. You can run for one hour in one place in search of treasure.

4) Achievements. Some achievements do not work correctly. I finished in first place on all the maps in Peru, but did not get the corresponding achievement. I drove a truck more than 2000 kilometers, but the achievement counter says that I drove a total of 1300. [EDITED: everything is OK with the achievements. My fault].

I did not write anything about developer support, which is not there. Because I understand that this game cannot be targeted at a large audience. This game is quite specific, because not everyone will like to travel 1000 kilometers through the desert, delving into a notebook. This is probably why the developers quickly abandoned the game - because the game did not produce a “boom” in the gaming industry and went unnoticed enough.
Summing up, I must say that playing on a powerful computer with maximum graphics settings is still bearable, because you can just drive and enjoy the environment, which, I repeat, is very cool in the game. But the cons in this game are much more than pros. I see no reason to spend money.

I really hope that the developers will take these and other points into account if they decide to develop Dakar 22, Dakar 23 and so on. The very idea of ​​the game is great, but the implementation is terrible.

Возможно, у многих ещё остался диск с этой игрушкой (возможно, даже с самой первой частью, тогда вы реально олдовый олд). При запуске этой игры можно почувствовать знакомый запах, как от старых потрёпанных пожелтевших книг. Если понравилась какая нибудь тёлка, можно блеснуть своими познаниями в грамотном управлении каждой цивилизацией и глубокими знаниями о том, какими пехотинцами и какой тактикой задавить кавалерию. Можешь ещё рассказать, чем кхмеры лучше малайцев, или у каких цивилизаций есть боевые слоны, ведь ими играть интереснее, чем подрывниками. Легендарная игра, в которую каждый уважающий себя успешный мужчина должен сыграть хоть раз. Уважаю. Рекомендую.
