Got some optimization issues to figure out, which might never be addressed which aint great. Still a lot of fun if you have the hardware to get it running decently. Run on a 3080 10gb with pretty much high settings across the board, dlss quality, special k hdr really makes it pretty. Especially the oblivion gates. Still a shame to release it in such an unoptimized state. UE5 can look great but really suffers from performance problems. 2-3 crashes in my playtime so far. ~8.5GB vram use at 3440x1440. Ultra textures seem to gobble too much vram for my card.

10 years later and still unfinished and runs extremely poorly. Sound design is rather abrasive too imo. Concept is really cool but execution and dev team leave a lot to be desired when compared with competing titles.

Well I have to say, after revisiting it a while later, a lot of my initial complaints have been addressed. Install size appears to have been lowered a fair bit if I am remembering correctly. AI is a bit more reasonable, although not perfect. Might try some of the mods for this after completing the missions vanilla at least once. Mod scene seems extensive so that's neat. I wouldn't mind some sort of sprint or other feature to temporarily move a bit faster to get into cover as it feels a bit weird just taking a nice slow jaunt into cover when you're under fire. My biggest nitpick at this point comes down to the lighting system. The largely static, baked lighting really pulls away from the immersion visually. It looks fantastic in stills but walking around it just feels a bit off all the time, especially since the game does in fact simulate the players body, not just a floating set of arms and a gun. Otherwise though, I am having a ton of fun working my way through the missions for the first time. For $30 I would say it has been worth it and I will certainely be coming back for mods and possibly the DLC.

Initial Review:Lots of good things here ultimately brought down by seemingly broken enemy ai and a lack of movement options to contend with them. Gunplay feels really solid but you'll be tearing your hair out dealing with twitchy unpredictable ai that will either react in a vaguely natural way to your callouts or shoot you without any sort of warning. Games penalty system likes you to wait until you're fired upon but typically it will be too late by that point. The install size is kinda nuts too for the amount of content in the game currently.

The battlefield game we asked for and never got. No microtransactions, no battlepass, just fun.
