Gearbox why....

The Real Review
For those who don't know, this game is really good. The Void DLC was good too, but gearbox bought the game and ruined it.

The game is still the same, content-wise, but the reason its "ruined" now is that gearbox turned it into a buggy mess. Its as if they ported it to their own private version of unity that's old and modded and it broke all the existing code.

Maybe hopoo couldn't afford unity's runtime install fee so they decided to sell it? That would be extremely unfortunate considering that unity just recently lifted that fee. If gearbox has a private version of unity (this is very common in big company game dev) then they might be legally obligated to use it. Regardless of that - they still broke the game and released it without ANY quality assurance. That's insane!

On Seekers of the Storm
Some people are mixed about the content in Seekers of the Storm. I think its alright, personally. It's definitely overpriced, but otherwise fairly fun (pretending the bugs don't exist, of course). Seeker and False Son feel like modded characters, Chef is worse than modded Chef, new stages are cool, the new boss is silly, new enemies are meh. I'd rate the DLC content at 6.5/10, not as good as void.

If you haven't bought the DLC yet, I would advise against it until its on sale. If you haven't bought ROR2 yet, I'd probably wait until gearbox patches it for real (their last patch broke multiplayer lol) or buy it on sale.

Note to developers reading this
PLEASE don't sell your games/IPs. I understand if you have to due to financial trouble, but aside from that, big companies simply don't care about them like you used to - assuming you've lost your passion for them.

IDK about anyone else and I don't know what happened with ROR and hopoo, but personally I'd rather have an abandoned game with a solid modding community than a buggy mess pumping out overpriced DLC every year.
