My review is going to be pretty straightforward — but this time, it's a different story.

Let’s rewind: when Cyberpunk 2077 first launched, it was an absolute mess. Bugs everywhere. Mouths not moving, broken animations, scenes ruined by glitchy object spawns, and game-breaking bugs like the infamous "Walk like an NPC forever." Driving felt either glued to the road or like sliding on ice, and the lack of post-creation character customization felt like a big missed opportunity.

But now?

CD Projekt Red really put in the work. The game has undergone a massive transformation.


Most of the bugs that once broke immersion (or the whole game) have been squashed.

The driving mechanics feel tighter, more responsive, and way more fun.

Combat — both gunplay and melee — has been refined and feels much more fluid.

Character customization has been expanded, letting you finally tweak your V a bit more.

The game just feels... stable. Playable. Even polished.

The core story was always good, but Phantom Liberty took it to another level. The writing, the pacing, the characters — it all feels way more mature and cinematic now. Songbird and Reed are standout additions, and the branching decisions actually feel like they matter. The expansion adds so much narrative weight and gives V's story a whole new layer of depth.

And let’s talk about the modding community — they’ve basically rebuilt the game from the ground up in some areas. From complete UI overhauls, new gameplay systems, and even custom stories, modders have turned Cyberpunk 2077 into a platform. If you’re playing on PC, it’s an entirely different game now depending on how you mod it.

Story and DLC (Phantom Liberty) are genuinely amazing — emotionally powerful, well-paced, and impactful.

Gunplay & melee combat feel smooth and satisfying after patches.

Stunning visuals — Night City is absolutely gorgeous on high settings.

Incredible soundtrack that elevates almost every scene.

Netrunning is deep and rewarding once you invest in it.

Lore-rich world with tons of detail and hidden gems.

Modding support has exploded, giving the game near-infinite replayability.

Stability and performance have improved dramatically.

Some lingering bugs and jank still pop up now and then.

AI behavior (especially NPCs in combat and traffic) can still feel clunky.

Economy & item balance still needs some fine-tuning.

Lack of post-launch romances or deeper relationship mechanics.

No NG+ (New Game Plus) as of this writing, which would’ve added even more replay value.

What was once a buggy disappointment is now a must-play RPG, especially with Phantom Liberty and mods in the mix. It’s not perfect, but it’s damn close to what we were all hoping for back in 2020. If you bounced off it early on, it’s 100% worth coming back.

Verdict: Strong recommendation — especially on PC.
