I like the art/character design, however the plot is almost non-existent, the gameplay where you read a text and then try typing in words mentioned in the text in order to progress the story gets tedious very fast, there's no voice acting or even background music, and the game is very short.

It's as bad as everyone says.

The combat is a worse version of the combat in the Arkham games. It's way slower, you have way less moves, the enemies will take turns attacking you (this includes enemies with firearms), the finishers take forever to perform (luckily with i-frames), your health seems to regenerate at random, and you have a buff that makes you practically invincible.

Luckily, you can just run past 90% of the enemies in the game as there is no penalty for doing so. No xp, skill points, ranks, nothing.

The voice acting is mostly awful (I played this right after watching the movie, which made the voice acting seem even worse).

Luckily, the game only took me around 3 hours to beat with all collectibles accounted for.

Still, I pretty much knew the game would be awful going in, and if you can get it when it's 85-90% off it might be good for a laugh or two.

This wasn't the game for me as I couldn't really get into it in the 16 minutes that it took me to beat it.

I might give the sequel a try when it goes on sale as that one seems to be a bit longer and more fleshed out.

I was going to call this game complete trash, but the second (=final) stage was slightly better than the first one, so I'll settle for just calling it mostly trash. The second stage is nothing special, just a very basic FPS where you kill a bunch of spiders, but honestly that was pretty much what I was expecting going in - minus the spiders. I thought most of the enemies would be women (because of the title), however the game might as well have been called Arachnophobia.

Still, the game is way too short, and there are so many better options out there, which makes it hard to recommend Gynophobia. It feels more like a demo than a full game, however if you got the game for free (or very, very cheap) and you have an hour to kill, then I guess you could do worse than Gynophobia. Just keep your expectations very, very low.

I enjoyed it.

It's not perfect, but if you've already finished all the Dark Souls games + Elden Ring and don't mind playing a slightly worse version of those games, then Lords of the Fallen will probably keep you satisfied.

My expectations were fairly low after looking at some of the other reviews, but in my opinion Lords of the Fallen is a decent Dark Souls knockoff. I bought it when it was 90% off and I definitely feel like I got my money's worth.

I finished this "game" (good ending) in 19 minutes...

You barely get to know anything about the characters, most of the winning arguments are very obvious, and the game is just too short to really care about any of the characters or anything that's going on in the courtroom.

I thought the art was okay (I like the art style), but that's really the only positive thing I can say about this game.

Great game. Maybe not quite on the same level as the original, but still, close enough.

Seeing all the original characters (Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith + don't forget Jessie) and locations again with updated graphics and listening to all the beautiful music is enough to make any fan of the original enjoy this game. The (Japanese, didn't try English) voice acting was also top tier. We only really get to know 5 (6 counting the DLC) of the original main characters in this game, but I can't wait to see how all the other characters will turn out.

The real-time/turn-based hybrid combat system is also pretty fun once you get the hang of it. I played using classic mode, so I have no idea how the "non-classic" mode worked, but I had a lot of fun moving around the battlefield, dodging and blocking, while "pausing" the game when deciding which spells and abilities to cast. The materia-system, while maybe a little bit simplified compared to the original, is back, and picking out the right materia ("upgrade") for each weapon and character is crucial to beating the hardest bosses.

The Yuffie DLC was also a nice bonus. After all, more Yuffie is never wrong :) The DLC introduces a combo system where if two characters have enough ATB (energy used for abilities) they can sync up and cast a more powerful combo version of certain abilities, and while Yuffie is plenty fun to use by herself, pulling off huge damaging combos just feels amazing. Square Enix has confirmed that they will be keeping the combo system in part 2, which is excellent news.

Speaking of part 2, it will (most likely) be coming out next year. It just sucks that that probably means that it won't be coming to Steam for at least another couple of years ...

The Lion King is a fun platformer, but I didn't really enjoy Aladdin. You have to pay extra for the SNES version which is the one I used to play as a kid, and in my opinion that version is much better than this one (although that might be my nostalgia talking).

I'm giving this a thumbs down because I only enjoyed one of the two games (The Lion King) and because I think the price is too high. The games are really short (as they were back in the day) so this pack should in my opinion be no more than $10 at full price. Despite buying them when they were more than 60% off I still don't feel like I got my money's worth.

The Lion King was fun while it lasted, and the extras (like the "making of the game" documentaries) were a nice bonus, so if you played the (non-SNES) version of Aladdin as a kid and know that you will enjoy both games there is probably enough value here to warrant a purchase (when it's on sale).

Why so many negative reviews? Beat Souls is a fun game!

Using a controller you move your character left and right with the directional pad (or left thumbstick), jump with A (on an Xbox controller), change the color of your "ghosts" with X, and line up the ghosts to hit the notes with the shoulder buttons.

Some reviews claim that this is not a rhythm game, but I have no idea how you're supposed to beat the hardest tracks on the hardest difficulty without listening to the beat of the notes. I for one had a lot of trouble following what was going on using only my eyes, so I listened to the beat of the notes as I was hitting them (rather than the beat of the song) which made things easier. The tracks start out fairly easy but some of the later tracks can get pretty crazy.

The music is not the most memorable, but it worked fine as background music for a rhythm game. I probably won't remember any of the tracks after uninstalling the game, but they were catchy enough while playing.

It took me 23 hours to perfect (no damage/full combo) all 55 tracks on both difficulties, at which point there isn't really much point in replaying the game as I don't think you can improve your score any further, but if they add any more tracks (like they've done once before) I'll definitely be back. Still, even if they don't add any more tracks - 23 hours for $10? That sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

I'm honestly a bit surprised that this game has received so many negative reviews. I was pleasantly surprised, and can definitely recommend Beat Souls, especially if you're someone like me who enjoys rhythm games and don't mind replaying the same track over and over (and over) again in order to get that perfect run.
