This game would go so hard if it was actually good.

Some of the most creative, inventive and just plain cool setpieces, ideas and levels are turned to tedious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ by the game railroading you into playing it the one, narrow way it demands to be played. In comparison to its two self-admitted inspirations, Devil May Cry and Quake, both with plenty of player freedom and emergent gameplay, Ultrakill ends up feeling like its trying to force that feeling into existence by punishing you severely for favouring any one gun or playstyle which just makes longer combat sections like the Gabriel fights an utter slog. Movement is better but ultimately all you are given is the illusion of an insane set of movement options that are, in reality, completely constricted by level design and arbitrary setbacks. In case you were having TOO much fun, I guess.

Maybe when its a final product and there's been time to revise and finetune things it'll be worth coming back to but for now I'm done trying to force myself to enjoy a Just-OK shooter that could've been an incredible one.

its a good game,I'd like to see more stuff added in future,but its definetly a fun game
