This game is incredible. A breath of fresh air in the current gaming market full to the brim with half-functioning barebones cashgrabs.
It's a revival and a celebration of the RPG genre and it shows that there's still an incredible amount of interest and possibilities regarding turn-based combat. It's a piece of art.
The story, so far, is also quite interesting.

It is such a fun game. Pick it up.

Game definitely needs better optimization, you'll have to either have a top-notch PC or lose graphical detail, and not in a small way, for it to run decently. Plot is not great either.

Alright, that's the negative part. Now everything else in the game.

It's fun. So darn fun. I come from having played other monster hunter games and I never had this much fun in them. I can't put my finger on it, but it just flows so well and overall feels like they made the game thinking of how much fun would player have. More difficult fights will come, but the game is quite gradual in introducing them; starting from absurdly easy to something you'll need to actually build for, and it's definitely going to get even more elaborated. A lot of the clunk was put as a QoL quick selection and everything else makes for an experience that trims all the fat to just have you focus on the best part of the game: fighting big monsters.
The wound system, while being very strong and maybe even too much, feels incredible and it is so much fun to play with.
The weapons were both simplified and elaborated upon, making it easier to get into them while still having a ceiling to reach in knowledge to get the best rotations...which would have always existed, so having something more doable while still keeping some extra oomph for players to play with is fun.

My main take is the game was made very easy to learn while keeping the mastery overall untouched. The QoL addictions are NOT the optimal way to play, they're there for those that want to just have fun without being the absolute best, while those that want to minmax get to play with all the elaborated mechanics of the monster hunter series and shred monsters like there's no tomorrow.

As said, game IS demanding, but if your machine is up to the task...man does this game look beautiful. The RE Engine is a miracle for high-fidelity experiences, and I love how it looks.

And it just is so darn fun.

A month of delay for characters. Nothing else.
You're treating the game as if it's a fighting game like FighterZ when it's not.
It's a Dragon Ball simulator, people want variety in arenas, fun what ifs to go through, live the dragon ball experience.
You're missing the point of your own game and people are leaving for it.

TLDR: get this on sale, I'd say 50% or lower is good.

This is an old game. It's barely changed from its original 2010 release, with all its perks. It's a good game, but definitely not one I'd warrant for its full asking price. The plot is weird, but it takes you for a ride you won't forget. It's a story of loss, vengeance, acceptance and so much more. I can see why it deserves the cult status it got, and this remastered version only makes it better to experience. I'd recommend it as a standalone experience, I HIGHLY recommend it if you are interested in the NieR story or if you played Automata

The Gothic feeling is definitely there. but there's some jank and modern qol that could improve the experience.
First of all, the clunkiness of combat. It is true that og gothic was clunky, but there's no need for this to be as well. More fluid animations would do wonders for the experience.
Let us see what we're picking from the ground, text would be very nice to have.
Fullscreen not going crazy if you alt-tab.

This game is a drug, will ruin your life since your daily routine now includes popping balloons with monkeys for hours. 10/10 would buy it again.

So far I've had a blast playing this. It's clear that we only got this version of the game as the "base game" because of poor sales, but that is in the past and now we get to play this at the regular price.

The mechanics for it are extremely varied, interesting and cool to use.
The skill trees are extremely straightforward and allow for cool combinations.
There's an insane amount of QoL improvements (for one, you get an auto-save at the end and the start of your turn and you can reset your actions during your turn to try something different)
The battles...are so far a tad of a low point, to be fair. I've not reached the top tier units but so far it seems very samey playing in Egypt. I do get that a game based in that period and you playing in Egypt brings pretty much the same units to every roster, and there's just so many variations of "human" you can do while still staying tied to the historical accuracy.
The gods mechanic is very interesting, the research tree is cool.

I suggest picking this game up, hopefully it will send a message that publishing full games is a good idea to succeed.

TL;DR: THE DELUXE AND PREMIUM EDITION DO NOT INCLUDE THE EXPANSION "THE ANSWER", BUY THE BASE GAME AND JUST THAT DLC FOR THE BEST VALUE.

It is a great game, worth the price. A note regarding the three tiers of editions:

There's four kinds of DLC for this game:
- extra material, nominally the artbook and soundtrack
- cosmetic addons, costumes for the characters
- dlc Personas, which you would not find in the base game otherwise
- The Answer, an expansion of the story that adds gameplay

The base edition includes the base game, and worth the price.

The Deluxe Edition only adds soundtrack and artbook as a program you have to launch, does not give you the files. This is extremely not worth the extra price.

The Digital Premium Edition adds to soundtrack and artbook the persona and costume dlcs.

What is missing from both is The Answer, the only dlc that adds gameplay.
In the European market the three packs are sold at 70, 80 and 100 euro respectively. You have a 30 euro increase in price for costumes, dlc personas which add little to the game and two programs that are very out of their time. It's better to pick the base version and buy just The Answer as a standalone purchase.

The fact that this DLC is not included in the Digital Premium Edition and there is no way to buy it in a pack alongside the base game is extremely anti-user. Two tiers of editions and the absence of a third make you think you'd get everything in the top priced one.

The expansion itself could even be fun, but this practice is scummy and deserves to be noticed.
