I've been seeing a lot of complains about FPS drops and "badly optimized". Personally, I've only gotten FPS drops fighting the first boss in the open world. The drops were very noticeable but nothing I couldn't live through. To me this was not much of an issue as I didn't even meet this boss until later on, but I can see why some people would pretty much start the game and be met with these FPS drops and be disappointed. Other than that, only in the open world have I ever gotten any FPS drops, and it's not very often. If you want my rig info look at the end of this review.

The game so far is massive, gorgeous, and challenging. It's everything I was expecting and more.

My only complaints so far are not the FPS drops but:

1.- The fact that you can completely miss meeting an NPC if you go trough another route (the NPC will literally disappear, never to be seen again).

2.- From all the boss drops and "rare" items I've found, the only item that was actually useful for my class, I got from killing an NPC that you're not supposed to kill. I'm not entirely sure I'll ever find a better staff.

My rig is a Ryzen 3600, RTX 3060ti, and 32GB of ram.

Edited with 79 hours in: This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing. I'm still not doing with my first playthrough.

If you liked Castlevania you will absolutely love Bloodstained. I've been waiting for this game since the Kickstarter was announced, and it's everything I wanted and even more.

The character's visual customization is basic yet it's good enough.

As for weapons and playstyles there's so many options! I'm not entirely sure if they're all viable but most of the weapons I've used have been ok at the job of slaying demons.

The soundtrack is amazing. The stages are amazing. The Kickstarter backer's content (in-game portraits, pet monsters, etc) actually mesh incredibly well with the game, everything feels fresh and looks good.

I have very few complains about this game, one being that the shop feels mostly useless: items that you want to buy are very expensive, and selling items is pretty worthless overall (I think the same item is 2.5k if you buy it, but if you sell it, it's 350g). The other being that so far (65% of the map discovered) I got stuck real hard twice having no idea where to go or what to do next, thankfully some people on the community hub helped me out, I have no idea how they figured that stuff out.

I'm very excited for the DLCs to come and I hope a few things get changed in time for the better, but overall this game is pretty solid and I've been playing it non-stop since it released. 100% recommended.

I enjoy this game so far.
There's always a surprise. Every situation I was put in had something new or rewarding. It could be a new aspect of the story or a new way to play. Speaking of the story, it has sense of humor and a little bit of mystery. I want to know what’s next. The soundtrack is great and makes you want to keep playing. About the gameplay, it’s always changing in a good way, you don’t get bored. You’re reading the story as you play.

I fully recommend it to everyone who likes platformer or just looking for something different.
