A great survival game, with or without friends. The right mix of difficulty, combat, building, and crafting.

Well... It was worth every penny. EVERY SINGLE PENNY.

I'm a big minecraft fan, especially playing survival game types. Unfortunately, I have a big issue with minecraft and survival games - it's too damn easy! It's too easy to make impervious shelters, stockpile food, and there arent any mobs that are dangerous if you're cautious and attentative. It's really hard to make the game difficult while still playable, so I've been looking desperately for other options.

Don't Starve addresses many of the issues I mentioned above - shelter is hard to build (and never impervious/safe), food can't be easilt stockpiled (it spoils!! Woo!), and enemies can be VERY deadly, even when you are prepared. The seasons are also great in that they impact food availability and hot/cold can do you physical harm. So many great mechanics!

Only downside is the game is currently only single player, but they are currently working on Don't Starve Together, which I'm super excited for.

In short, if you like survival games but want a more challenging environment, check this game out.
