Got into it for the friends, stayed for the fun gameplay, keep coming back for the lore updates.

Remember to grind to live, not live to grind, or it'll consume your life.

The game is great but I was so bad at it at the beginning that I considered a refund.

It could definitely use more in-game explanations of what each thing means and what it does, because you're going to be totally lost on what is good and what is bad on your first few runs before you test items out. Unless you have the wiki open, it's just really hard to figure out what the (highly diverse and creative!) modifiers and random generated content is and how to use it.

It's a great game with a KILLER soundtrack and it's real satisfying to play, but it needs more newbie-friendly content, or at least to add some kind of explanation. You can't even see what the new character that you unlock stats are unless you start a game with them or check the wiki.

Fun game. Addicting. Can use a bit of polishing, but recommend if you like roguelikes!

YMMV- your mileage may vary.

I almost put a 'don't rec' review on this game because I understand that it's not the game most people wanted to play, and they're likely to be disappointed by it. Hell, this wasn't the game that I wanted to play because I expected more rpg elements, but you know what? I'm thirty hours in and having a great time. I haven't even finished the main plot yet because there's so much to do.

The game is glitchy, it's unfinished, and it's just...not ready. It didn't come when it was ready, and that SUCKS, but it's a good game at its base and I fully expect it to be ironed out. The fact that it's retaining my attention despite all of the issues means that at its core, it's good. Does this mean that you'll feel the same way? Not necessarily. But I think that this game is redeemable, and has a GREAT basis to work on.

Seriously, the map design I could sing praises about all day, and the writing (not just for the main quests but all of the side, and even minor gigs) has more than once surprised me with its heart.

If you're looking for a straight rpg, this is not it. If you're looking for cyberpunk gta clone, this is not it. If you're looking for something that has a bug-free experience this......is not it y e t.....

If you're hesitant, come back to it in six months. In the meanwhile, I'll enjoy my Night City joyrides and plan out my next three playthroughs, if I ever manage to max out this one of interest.

I don't like roguelikes. I've never been interested in the game genre, playstile, mechanics, and the like. I tried a few before despite not feeling attracted to them, and got bored within the first couple of hours, never picked them back up.

I freaking love this game. I got it a couple days ago and if I could, I'd be playing it all day every day, I go to sleep at night wishing I had more time to play it. The combat is fun, there's so many playstyle options and builds to keep it fresh, and the replayability is off the charts. The artstyle is gorgeous, as is the ambience and the level design, and the soundtrack is just.... dafbòansdjkad

I haven't gotten too far into the plot yet, as I've been taking my time with it, but I love all of the characters and writing too. While I'm writing this review all I want to do is go play this game, but I can't, because I'm busy soon.

Get this game.

The game has a lot of issues. The game can also be really fun to play. There's no other game on the market quite like this one, that's got this kind of gameplay survival mechanic with the horror theme that mixes multiplayer in with it. Something I really enjoy about this game is that it's low mechanical skill requirement, but high skill cieling: you can get by at medium ranks making lots of mistakes, but there's the potential to do some seriously big brain plays if you become good enough at the game.

The pros:
-no other game quite like it
-fun in a team
-i still get scared playing with certain killers
-new content updates really frequently
-high skill cieling
-dont have to 'survive' to feel like you've won/played well

the cons:
-can be frustrating to play solo for too long because without communication other survivors will do really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
-bugs are a feature
-reworks and balancing issues can take a long time to be patched in

there will be good and there will be bad games, and you never know what kind of game it's going to be. The tilting happens when you get too many bad games in a row...in which case unplug, and maybe come back later with a friend.

Honestly, more fun than it looks. The cute art and music keeps you cheerful, the gameplay is very simple but keeps you thinking cause you have to be 10 steps ahead of the game. Decent strategy is needed for an A+ playthrough. Have fun getting to it though. Dying is ridiculously easy(but that's ok the impending sense of doom adds to the atmosphere).

Overall, 7/10 get it while it's on sale, it's worth playing but can get tiring in the long run.
