Update: After a recent patch, the mouse pointer is indeed functioning properly now.

Leaving my original comment below the line:

------

Not a review but a purchase warning:

Not recommended to get because the product is broken. A point and click game with a non-functional mouse pointer. It's that bad.
The mouse technically works but the cursor is hidden, and the in-game cursor doesn't respond to mouse input. You can move the in-game cursor if you have a controller plugged in, so it's not completely unplayable, but why would one want to do that with a perfectly functional mouse? This bug has been in the game for nearly a year, it seems.

Also, each scene swap is interrupted by an out of place loading logo, even when installed from SSD. You can clearly understand that the scenes were meant to flow together seamlessly, and in fact, the demo worked fine in this regard. This significantly impacts the experience.

In addition, there's something I just found out while scouring the forums for technical advice. There is a statement from the author and main artist of the game saying that the publishers released the game without his approval, and he never intended it to be sold in this state.

Even if it's on sale, avoid purchasing this until they sort it out

I don't know who this was made for, but certainly not for me.

I felt like a game journalist for the first time when I was unable to clear the "tutorial" stage

The idea and aesthetic is fantastic, but I simply cannot support a game that encourages bunnyhopping as a deliberate mechanic.

Considering how high the price held for years, and the current availability of a version with fewer technical issues, the game should be updated to a decent standard.

Post patch update:
The framerate is now stable at 60fps, but there is still some stuttering when loading zones, at least from an HDD.
Hopefully that will be improved/fixed too but it seems this is the best version we are going to get on PC

This game revolutionizes nothing.

Don't be fooled by what some directionless idiots are peddling. This is unfortunately not much more than a series of copied gimmicks and mechanics done far better elsewhere, wrapped in an undercooked presentation that, while it has some cool potential, it's left completely unrealized.
To make things worse, the whole thing is dripping with a pretentious veneer of unearned transcendence that clashes loudly with the incompetent craftsmanship.
And I don't say this gratuitously.

It could be somewhat redeemed if the game was actually fun to play but the experience is marred by an atrocious progression system, combined with a gamefeel that can only be described as utter ♥♥♥♥.

Now that the game is free, I guess it only feels as if you've been spit in the face. Instead of that plus punched in the gut. If you unfortunately paid for this crime against the shoot 'em up genre, like I did, you have my condolences. The best I can say is that I hope that whoever perpetrated this game puts a little bit of actual care into their next project.

Do yourself a favor and play Psyvariar, the Touhou games, or any of the dozens of far, far better games that this tries to unsuccesfully rip off. Even Everyday Shooter, as lacking as it was, is more enjoyable than this grotesque.

Pretty much Diablo as as shooter, with some awful micropay practices
