So, I love and hate this game.
I love it, because it scratches that itch that makes me want to shoot things, and yet, as a member of a good Fire Team, I can enjoy gaming with people who want to enjoy the game content, and seek to succeed even when Joel doesn't want us to.
I hate this game, because the two active fronts are both hard and painful to enjoy. The rRttF front (Bot front, also read as the "random Rocket to the Face" front) seems to have the Automatons find you, and somehow send a rocket right at you. On the other front, the Bug front, as I call it, the "APHS" front (read Angry Players Hate Success" front, you'll join a team, and with 50+% odds, be kicked from the team when the mission ends. This is also the same front where many of the players are, so be aware of that.
Do I recommend the game? Heck yeah! With friends, or with a decent/solid team of players you've met (probably on the rRttF front), you can have lots of fun, and find a cooperative environment to have fun. On the other hand, where the larger community is, the APHS front, you might wonder why you bought the game, because the Team Leaders (i.e. Game Hosts) on this side don't like teamwork, they hate people who don't do what they do.
Kudos to Arrowhead Studios for what they've done with the Franchise. Giant F__k Y_u to Sony for trying to fragment and wreck the game community. Small F__k Y_u to Steam restricting access to players after the fact.
Overall, a "Yes" buy to people who can buy it.

Not worthy of the award it won in 2021. There are games that have given more over the course of time. Not saying it's a bad game. It's not. It's a lot of fun. But there are better games with stronger commitments to advancing their games forward and onward than this game. And it won't get another second of my time. There are better games to play, better commitments to enjoy. #TimeBetterSpentElsewhere
