Storyline is engaging. Gameplay is extremely slow. It's a S-JRPG so plays a lot like Disgaea and/or Final Fantasy Tactics (or for the PC'er only crowd.... think Civilization combined with Xcom, but much slower thanks to all the steps you have to go thru to do stuff and with a Dialog Storyline engaging enough to force you to go thru all the tedium gameplay). Text is all voiced, but voiced in Japanese. All Battle Engine Voices are in Japanese with no subtitles. but you can guess what corny lines they are saying. between grunts.

I don't know which version of Agarest 1 the PC version is based from. Most likely it's from the Xbox360 version, which happens to be the version with the most content. Doesn't seem to have any rumble for your gamepad. Pretty sure the PS3 version had Rumble effects. Console versions of this game allowed end data save transfers from Agarest to Agarest: Zero, and Agarest: Zero to Agarest 2. Have no idea if they plan on porting Zero and 2 to Steam and if they do , if the games will have the same end save data transfers that the Console versions had.

Game is typical of Compile Heart as far as girls in skimpy outfits and other such things. Barely started it myself, but if it's anything like Zero. Then the game is gonna be part Japanese Dating Sim, as well...

Oh... and the trading cards. They seem to average about .80cents to a $1.15. Pretty sure that makes them the most expensive cards on Steam, right now. That may change as time goes on though.
