Got the game Day 1 and loved it then. Hated it a few years later. It's fallen far.

-Can't play as all the heroes without unlocking some of them.
-Bastion's tank mode and many other abilities still removed completely from the game with no trace, you'd think custom games would support them.
-No artwork tab because Blizzard hates you for liking their characters.
-Still have to go through Battle.net to play. Not having to was the main reason I bothered installing.
-Still no modding whatsoever. I don't care if this is the standard, the "modern" gaming industry sucks.
-You can't unlock any cosmetics that you actually want anymore.
-The other problems you already know about.

Why'd you bother, Blizzard? Disable reviews while you can.

EDIT: Steam now allows you to hide games, so you can still play it while not even getting Blizzard publicity. Therefore I recommend it now, but only if you are desperate for a hint of nostalgia as compared to Overwatch the game is inferior, OBNOXIOUSLY advertises MTX and has an even more toxic playerbase.

If you don't want to learn how to play the game, then you can just grind Gunner by doing nothing until monsters or objectives show up. 10/10

Meet Your Match put Team Fortress 2 in a significantly worse state, but didn't ruin it. And then they just outright gave up after Blue Moon because their wimpy "Competitive" mode push failed; as you know, Valve has ignored the bot problem and done nothing notable with the game since other than events. This was the start of Valve making highly questionable decisions with their games and then barely addressing the problems that said decisions create, something that hasn't ended since. Counter-Strike 2's current state comes to mind.

Even L4D2, a game with no MTX has had a crisis with its servers recently that was quickly solved. Why? Because for the Last Stand update, Valve actually got in contact with dedicated members of the Left 4 Dead community to work on said update and stayed close. TF2 on the other hand has had no equivalent connection, leaving a far larger playerbase stranded with a broken game for years. What the hell Valve? These are your games to fix, but even if you can't do that, it should be possible to get others to do it for you.
