I've found it very hard to play 2D rhythm games, and I've tried to get into games like Quaver and Osu, but have found it too difficult. If 3D themes were possible, I would give this another try, but in the meantime I'll stick with Musynx.

I've loved playing this game when I first got it, but stopped playing for a while since trying to play through steam remote play was awkward at times, and before the CE version It was unable to run through proton on Linux (without serious modification).

With the CE update, I've been able to play the game natively on linux, and I've been enjoying how hassle-free the experience has become. Glad to see that the game is still actively being worked on.

So a short time playing, and immediately there's something that's annoyed the hell out of me with this game.
- If it's not been compiled against Linux, don't market it as being supported on it. This is built on Unity so there should be no reason you've not compiled a linux version, if you've not specifically leveraged Windows specific functions.

More about the gameplay:
The 3D 4K tack is far to narrow on a 1080P display, which strains to look at it. Using Musynx as an example, the track almost goes the full width of the screen, which makes it easier to follow.

The UI needs some love and attention. It's not the most sleek of systems, and it feels almost "cobbled" together. I'm aware that this is an early access game, so it would make sense that there's still work that needs to be done.

Since I'm using the Steam play option, running it through proton 5.0, I've already had the game lock up exiting a beatmap, and going back to the main screen. It's also slightly clunky, which means it doesn't give the smoothest experience.

With the game in its current state, I'm going to refrain from recommending it, but I would like to see it improve over time.

I've played for less than an hour, and all I can say is, I want to be good at this game.

There are only 2 colours to focus on, but the number of mechanics involved, that's what makes this game so difficult to play. But that's exactly how I like it.

If I was to compare this to an existing game, DJ hero would be the closest, but still doesn't compare to this game. I've played a few different types of rhythm games, most of them consist of just hitting and holding notes, but this has 5 mechanics in play -- Hold, Tap, Rotate, Spin, Beat.

Surprised that it's early access, it's rather flawless in both performance and design, even through a compatibility layer (Wine) for Linux. Really enjoying this game, will take time to learn how to play it, will likely need 10 hours of game play before I can even attempt hard songs.

Although late to playing Invaxion, I came from the mobile game ZYON, which I really enjoyed playing, but they've discontinued the app, so I was looking for my next fix from Aquatrax.

In my personal opinion, it's an amazing game. At first I struggled to play some of the easy 4K Standard songs, but given that I've never played a rhythm game with a keyboard before, that's expected. However I've been able to improve to the point where I can play most songs on 4K Hard, and on occasion 4K trinity. My brain is still not trained to handle 6K or 8K, but I will get there.

I want Aquatrax to continue working on and improving this game, mostly by adding all the songs from Zyon onto here, as I've noticed Zyon had a much larger selection of songs. Either that, or more Monstercat please :D.

Overall I would rate this 9/10, only reason it's not 10, is content, it needs more songs.

I've played this game for a short period of time, and here is what I have to say about it.

1) Although the graphics are amazing, there are still some annoying little pieces regarding the UI, mixclicking is a very easy thing to do, "you want to customize, nah we'll drop it".

2) The Mechanics are cool, but annoying. The Invetory management is fairly similar to that of some old games like some of the resident evil games, but considering the number of times you find yourself in fights, not ideal. The sneaking around also needs serious work, Metal Gear Solid, and a number of other games do this better.

3) Crashes. I've gotten 2-5% through the game, and I've had 2 crashes. That really doesn't say much for the games development. This does come with a few bugs, similar to borderlands, where enemies are shooting through barricades, thankfully none get through, but smoke greneades seem useless, if you're able to be spotted, even if the enemy shouldn't be able to see you.

4) Not the most important, but Linux support. For a game where AMD Gaming Evolved shows up through the loading screen, you can't be bothered to support AMD graphics for linux systems. Where's the sense in that. I was happy to see that the game was available for Linux, but to not support all hardware is stupid, That's the idea of Linux, compatibility with a large majority of systems.

Do I recommend, No. It's not worth it. Thankfully I got this game free with my FX Piledriver Porcessor. I've only gotten around to playing it now. I'm not going to be playing this anymore, not if it crashes as often as it does.

Ok, just got the game, and already disappointed. I run on Debian 9, and when the game loads, it crashes if I move my mouse at any point. This is a very massive game breaker, considering the game is highly driven around the mouse.

Granted, if you keep the mouse still, from the moment you click the play button within steam, the game doesn't crash. It does also mean that you can't play... bit of a catch 22 in my mind.

I have to launch a terminal, grep out the game from a "ps -ef", and then send a SIGKILL to the process. There is one hell of a lot of work involved. Too much in my mind, pre-alpha feel.

Therefore, I would not recommend the game at this time if you play on Linux.

I would recommend playing this game for anyone who enjoys heated competition with friends or strangers, enjoys driving cars, and blowing people up, and is a sports fanatic.

I myself am not a sports fanatic, but this game is impressive to say the least. The hype it got was wel deserved.

Hopefully the final update on this. Because this now contradicts the previous review updates regarding linux, I am happy to say that with the exception of my laptop, this runs better than ever on linux, I've not experienced any CPU bottlenecks, and the game very rarely looks like it's about to freeze up.

All in all, a good game.

I've just completed my run through on Talos Principle, and I absolutely loved it.

Not only was the game beautiful, it was very fun. Most of the puxxles can be frustrating, but as long as you keep tackling them, you will find a solution. I for one got frustrated on a couple, and then after overthinking the puzzles, I managed to solve them all.

I would recommend this game, and would love to see how this game runs on Debian linux and the Vulkan API.

I've played a total of 1 hour and 10 mins. During that time, I've enjoyed playing. Looks beautiful, and runs well.

It's an absolute shame that it has been built with unity, and not something like the unreal engine. This is due to the fact that when I try to launch the save game again, once fully loaded, it crashes, and I cannot continue to play.

Yes I would recommend this game. But I'm annoyed that it crashes this easily. Yes I know it's in early access, but even for early access this shouldn't be happening.
