Early Access Review
It's not there yet. The potential is there, but there are too many things that don't make sense yet, features that are probably not implemented, etc. It's also REALLY clear that all the portraits are AI. They look exactly like a million other AI portraits that cross my social feeds. I know that the game has an AI Content Disclosure, but I can't help but see the same stupid faces that are plastered over those ads.

I'm tempted to refund the game because I'm just not going to play it in the state that it's in. But I want to support the developer and it's cheap. But I wouldn't be charging for this yet if this was my game.

I want to love this game. I'm going to play it through the problems. But it's not a GOOD game. If you don't already like Monster Hunter, this isn't a good place to jump into it. The two main issues are:

Performance: This game runs BAD, even on a decent PC.
Narrative: A good story, but it hijacks the gameplay so often and for so long that it's disruptive to the primary gameplay loop.

I'm going to stick to the things that are most prevalent:

GORGEOUS - This game is one of the prettiest I've played, period. The art direction and the effort put into the art are very impressive

Well tuned Systems - I've only scratched the surface of most of them. This is not your Stardew Valley though. The way this game demands you satisfy hunger and engage with it's world does not leave you feeling cozy. It has you feeling satisfied that you are doing well without feeling like you can just float through every day.

Average Combat - Not great, not terrible, but it's so prevelant that it doesn't feel the average that it is doesn't feel great.

Immaculate Vibes - It's going for mystery and wonder without being so magical that you are bored of the mundane. And it hits that mark very well.

Engaged Developer: The team is actively listening to feedback and making changes to make the experience good for everyone. Which is good because...

**THIS HAS BEEN FIXED, WITHIN A DAY OR TWO OF THE REVIEW** Poorly Optimized: The developer is working on this, but the long and short is that the game doesn't run very good. That sucks. They have different ways to mitigate it on their wiki and Discord. Still, it's got performance problems and you can tell. **THIS HAS BEEN FIXED, WITHIN A DAY OR TWO OF THE REVIEW**

Overall: Updated to 8/10 from 7/10, as they resolved the performance issues! - This is a good game. It's worth the money they're charging, and it's going to be worth it and more by the time they polish out the performance bugs. In the meantime, if it looks like your kind of game, it probably is. This game delivers on the promise it sets out to fulfill.

Game is fine. Fun for a short period if buggy and samey over more than a couple hours. But you’re gonna get weird political reviews in the patch notes, and the dev replies to negatives reviews by calling them lies.
