Early Access Review
Gives you more freedom than other monster-collecting franchises (that refuses to come to PC).

Gameplay is fun, challenging and gives you lots of different ways to approach the obstacles in your way.

It's just my opinion, but apart from the glitches and a bit of irregular performance, the game's storyline is solid. Gives you choices and you can actually choose how to do things. The ending I achieved is a good one, fills you with hope. I recommend this game, fully. I know that there are bug and glitches, but a couple of patches were released and they have improved my experience by a lot. Maybe in the future, this game will get even better. For now, I recommend it. If you do not wish to pay the full price, at least wait for a sale. There is LOTS of content!

It's Halo, on PC, with the whole original trilogy. That's good enough for me.

Bough it on Origin first, then bought it on Steam again (basically upgraded from the standard edition to the deluxe). The campaign alone is well worth the promo price and the multiplayer, well, think of it as Apex on Steroids + Giant Robots. Fast-paced gameplay is an understatement. It's frenetic and brutal.

Great for passing time and to be used on low-end computers.

A nice coat of paint (or ray-tracing tech). This is the best Quake II so far! Definitely a must. Grab the full game.

Great game mechanics. New content is being added constantly, bugs are being fixed more often and, overall, this game offers a pretty solid experience when it comes to airplanes, tanks and ships. Recommended!

Portal Stories: Mel is a good community mod, the story is quite interesting, with the plausible, but, sadly, non-canonical characters and story development. The puzzles are nice overall, though sometimes they are not intuitive and other times require an extremly precise control and timing, Frustration can be a recurring issue throughout the course of the mod. Yes, I've heard the complaints about "it's not a puzzle, it's a searching game", but, in my point of view, limited resources are what makes the puzzle solving fun. the tools provided to you are really powerful, so, to add up the challenge, limited portal surfaces are a must. The story, although with few characters, gives you the drive to move on and finish the mod. The voice acting is decent, not something professional like the original Cave Johnson voice actor, but I admit that the mod's voice actor came closer than the majority of people that tried to impersonat Cave Johnson that I've ever seen. Achievements and full closed captions (with almost 100% precision with what's written and what's said, the meaning is the same, just a tiny bit choice of words that are different from the text). So, not to make this an overly long review, this mod is fully recommended, since it adds up some story to the already story rich Half-Life universe, even though it's not canonical.

After watching the first movie "Alien" from 1979, I promptly proceeded to play this game. The story happens 15 years or so after the events shown in the movie. If you watch "Aliens" from 1986 (if you haven't) before playing the game, you'll get a spoiler of the fate of Ellen Ripley's daughter, Amanda. So the order of enjoying the series would be: Alien (1979), Alien: Isolation (the game in question), Aliens (1986), Alien 3 (1992) and Alien: Ressurection (1997). My critical opinion about the game is:

Graphics: 90/100 - Superb, they really captured the atmosphere and tones present in the movies, the lightning work is excellent and the attention to deatils is really worth noticing. A few minor aesthetic differences from the movies exist and were noticed by other reviewers. Personally, I felt that, on the big picture, if you are not actively looking for those extremly minor differences, you won't notice them.

Gameplay: 85/100 - Excellent, the controls are responsive and you have to actually work your way through the game, not just rushing torwards an objective and shooting anything that moves, that is extremely discouraged. You'll feel powerless against the Xenomorph, even with a futuristic .357 magnum revolver. The AI work is so well done that the enemies can actually hear your tracking device and respiration (if they are near your hiding spot), you can also explore this feature to set traps, create diversions and even "use" the xenomorph against other threats. Some minor glitches can happen (personally, I experienced one that the Alien almost didn't get me, while firing my revolver at him until it got past the hitbox/detection bug and finally got me, but it happened just once).

Sound: 95/100 - Superb, if you are playing alone, in complete darkness and has some kind of 3D audio system like a surround home theater or really good headphones, get ready to feel the shivers and tensions that come with the noises that the Xenomorph produces, also, the soundtrack will get you extremly tense, worried and scared, but not in a bad way, after all this is just a game!

I will not provide any further details about the plot, as I'd like to avoid providing spoilers. My recommendation is that you don't even look at the achievements, as they can hint you torwards what will happen next.

Overall: 90/100 - Superb, SEGA has really scored an excellent grade for a game that follows the path where many failed. The games that capture the universe of a movie, either trying to reproduce the movie's plot or adding to it, usually are rushed and end up as a massive glitch fest, with no replayability value at all. That is not the case for this game. Try to play it on the hardest difficulty as I have done, despair is ensured when in a tight situation!
