I've been playing this series since it was a source mod. And other than a few minor things, this is the best version yet. The gunplay is very tight and the guns have a real sense of lethality with the blisteringly fast time to kill. Up until 8-12 months ago, the game had a lot of performance issues BUT these seem to be mostly resolved. I have a 4790k, 24 gigs of ram, and a 2080ti and I play at 1440p and get north of 115 fps most of the time with most settings at the higher end. If you have a high refresh monitor and adequate hardware, this game really is visually impressive and incredibly smooth at higher fps.

From a gameplay standpoint, don't expect this to play like battlefield or call of duty. The pace is MUCH slower and you will be punished for sprinting around like other AAA shooters. I tend to like this (combined with the very fast time to kill) because it makes tactical positioning one of, if not the, most important factor(s) in the game. Map knowledge will be important to avoid frustration when trying to push into new zones; knowing the enemy spawns and friendly and enemy off limits zones is it mostly.

Overall, I really enjoy this game and its my go to game for just getting in and playing something. Its not AMAZING looking, but it does look damn good. The third person animations for certain things are little wonky sometimes, but reload animations really are beautiful.

PLEASE BUY THIS GAME. I'd love to see the player count jump up. After a bumpy first couple of years, this game is really where it needs to be and the devs are always working on adding new stuff.
