This game is more than just a meme, or a gag, it's a piece of gaming history now. Play this, and you'll ascend into a grater existence.

Today is March 17th 2024, three days after the launch of the remaster collection. I am very happy that I elected to just mod the ♥♥♥♥ out of this version, particularly the Battlefront extreme mod, and enjoy it as much as I can. This mod adds new classes, new heroes/villeins, adds BF1 maps, allows for hero hunt on nearly all maps and much more. Buy this, and do not buy the remaster.

There are very few games I can genuinely say I have felt a real connection toward its characters. In fact I can only say that's happened to me with only two or three characters. Characters like Chloe from Life is Strange, or Lee from TTG's The Walking Dead Season 1. However, I have to admit, never once have I ever felt that these characters have felt more like a genuine family member to me then any of the characters here in Undertale. Rather it's Toriel as my mother, or Asriel as my little brother, Sans as my cool uncle, or Papyrus as my UNcool uncle who's so uncool that he's actually super cool. I love these characters, I want them to succeed, I don't just feel bad for them, or sympathize with them, I feel happy when they are happy as well, and when they are sad, so am I. This became most apparent when I had fought Asriel at the end of the True Pasficet ending, as I SAVED him, and as began to scream and cry, begging for me to stop and let him win, I started to cry with him. After the fight, and it asked me if would forgive him, or not I did so without second thought. Then when the game asked me to comfort him, again I lost it, I wept several manly tears (okay maybe not very manly). Never before have I felt so attached to any characters in any work of fiction. I have never felt that I could relate, so closely then I have with this game. Toby Fox, if you actually read these (which is unlikely) Then I want to thank you personally, from the bottom of my heart, for making characters that I have come to love, so much.

To be fair, it's not the worst thing ever. It's still a stealth game at heart, and it generally tries to give the series it's flowers when it can. It's just not a thief game. If you remove the idea that this Garrett is the same Garrett from the originals, then you may find yourself enjoying this game a lot. I've realized this myself, and I find myself liking it a bit more once I've removed the idea that this game has anything to do with the original series.
