just a god awful game. i was sooo ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stoked to play this- i am an avid enjoyer of open-world, survival co-op, base building (PLUS STEALTH!) games, and the concept of this game looked really unique. robots are FREAKY and have so much potential to be suspenseful, unpredictable, strong, INTELLIGENT.. plus, the setting being the isolated swedish countryside- so epic, so novel, and again, has the potential to be terrifying. but generation zero does not tap into any of that.

loot is overflowing in this game. there is no reason to be stealthy, because ten minutes into gameplay, we already had over 150 pistol bullets, and 20 health kits. 3 guns handed to you only an hour in. loot consistently duplicates, so you end up with multiple of the same guns or equipment (which you do not need, as everything is indurable). medkits are littered all throughout dead enemies' inventories, gasoline is everywhere- all just linked to the infinite loot problem.

robot ai is god awful. i understand this game is a bit dated, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... they run in random directions, they are slow to notice players and/or combat around them, melee combat is far too easy considering these are supposed to be metal entities of destruction... really takes away from the immersion and action aspect.
we decided not to proceed deeper into the storyline as that also took away from the immersion massively. therese, we do not want to hear about your summer camp stories. there are KILLER ROBOTS and PEOPLE ARE DYING. it just feels so jarring for characters to be so nonchalant about the world ending.

it just feels extremely unpolished. the concept is so awesome, but the execution is so lame. i'd comment more on the assets and the vehicles and the glitching but it's not worth the energy.
i'm a bit confused as to why the reviews in this game are so positive. most of them consist of: "yeah, everything about this game sucks, but it's open world, so recommended". no. i regret even letting myself get excited by this game.

rn tbh there's very little content, it ends up getting very repetitive after a while. it is still early access so i am absolutely still expecting the developers to provide more content in the future but for the price i expected at least five hours of content - it was rough to get through even two. i would love to see more lore about the company scattered around, and i am super excited to see what other maps and outside terrain you guys come up with. super cool concept, and despite its repetitiveness, it always had me on my toes and holding my breath!

just as fantastic as the original :)
the new dimension is certainly intriguing, and i am still trying to get the hang of investments (seems i don't understand them in real life nor digitally). new design of the notes system to fit with the intergalactic theme, and the cages are based in different constellations. a jump from the original game but at its foundation it is very similar. very enjoyable so far!

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sick game for sure, but damn is it definitely in early access LOL. i am glad i bought it now because i'd love to fund the cause, but i am a bit disappointed that it is in such a state after so many years of anticipation. there are many bugs; i haven't played much singleplayer, but in multiplayer, it is very obvious. inability to light campfires, buildings popping apart after completion, difficulties building in caves, absolutely insufferable running water sound effects (e.g waterfalls, streams, rain), and don't get me started on kelvin LOL. he is a cool concept, but game-changingly incomplete (had to run after him every 20 minutes when he decided to go on a little adventure out of nowhere despite commands, breaking tents by dropping collected logs on them, glitching and disappearing forever in caves and tunnels, etc. (we actually had to restart one of our saves after he just decided to glitch out of existence)).
the graphics are phenomenal, like a polished version of prior game. the inventory system is pretty sick. the cannibals are similar, definitely more varied, and there is a lot to their lore that is worth exploring. the combat is bloody (no pun intended) crazy. but right now, my partner and i decided to quit and do something else because it was just too buggy to truly enjoy. i am excited to be fully immersed when the game is in a better state :D
