A short but cute narrative and a clever system allowing jumping back and forth key story choices makes this worth a look. The narrator's utterances of surprise at the twisting plot can sometimes be a little on the nose, but the characters dialogue is well written.

All up the game takes about 5 hours to reach the "true" ending, though you will have covered almost all the alternate endings to get get there. It feels like there should have been a little bit more content to wrap up some of the loose ends but the story does come to a solid conclusion.

Like many people, I was incredibly disappointed when the PC port of this game first came to Stream. The "high resolution" graphics looked garish and the UI was a mess. However I am very happy to have seen that the developers took this feedback and fixed all these issues. It's now better than it was when I first played it on SNES now including cut-scenes from the PS1 version and several bits of additional end-game content.

Highly recommended as one of the greatest 8-bit RPGs of all time!
