This is an absolutely brilliant game. My friend set me up for it, at first I wasn't really interested in buying it, but after he urged me to get it, I decided to give the first one a shot.

Now I'm personally not a big fan of any scary stuff so the first hour of the game scared the crap out of me (I know, I know...). But after playing for maybe 1 and a half hours tops I was completely hooked. I would think about the game while going to bed. The story is just plain brilliant and how the story is based on and revolves around several ideals, it's just fantastically done.

What I really loved about the game is that it's different from other shooters. In mainstream shooters you get guns and you shoot the ♥♥♥♥ out of the other guy and if you die you respawn with full ammo. In this game you have to be careful with everything you get because it's really easy to run out of money, which means no ammo. You constantly have to keep yourself stocked. Now of course you can find ammo lying around, but in all fairness it's really easy to run out of ammo and money if you're not paying attention to it.

I'm a sucker for upgrading things, so the upgrading feature of the game was probably what I loved the most. Not only can you upgrade your guns, but also your abilities. Man don't get me even started on those! They way they set it up so you can play it in your own style of prefrences is just fantastic. However I was a little concerned with how difficult it is sometimes to change stuff around to have the abilities to your own liking.

All in all, I recommend this game to everyone who's a fan of shooters or just creepy stuff in general. I know it's not really catigorized as "scary", but man, it scared the crap out of me sometimes. After playing through it, I didn't hesitate to get number 2 and I also plan on getting Infinite when it goes on sale.
