The boss in the church is the most infuriating boss I've ever fought in any game. Even if you've saved up enough ammo on hard mode, the bat will spawn smaller bats that will make you aim at nothing. You'll miss bats right in front of you. It's all RNG and it's ♥♥♥♥ design. I love the resident evil series, but this part was made by someone who wants you to break your controller and never play the game again. I'd beaten this game on Gamecube years ago, but I must've repressed some memories of this boss battle. Therefore, I can't recommend this game to people because of this battle. There are also no item boxes in this game, so enjoy backtracking.

I completely understand that this game is still in early access, but honestly how can you expect people to want to continue playing when the core gameplay is still very buggy and the game still remains poorly optimized. It would be fine if anyone in the development team would openly talk about the bugs, but it appears that recent updates are trying to prioritize leaderboard options over tackiling the FPS stuttering, inconsistent frames, and extreme server lag that is present at the start of most games. To me and this is just my opinion, it ruins the fun of the game. I don't want to feel like a close quarters fight is just a coin toss and I don't want to feel like my Ryzen 7 1700 and gtx 1080 can't handle keeping this game at a steady fps. I'm just disappointed, considering the initial success of the game, you would think a lot of money would go into making the game better. Just look at Fortnite, it's an openworld game running on the same engine that has absolutely zero frame rate loss and extremely smooth gameplay. These are just my thoughts, but I can't recommend this game to anyone as it is.
