Edit: Got it to work, it turns out that a settings file in My Documents got corrupted and deleting that file did the trick.

65 hours in, and I still wouldn't recommend, unless you like getting the "♥♥♥♥ you in particular" treatment. For 2 Ironman (no saving) runs I played as Hakon Yngling in the Iron Century start, and it was fun at first, seeing your realm expand slowly and the internal politics staying balanced.

I binged for 3 nights in a row per run, and each time I rage-quitted the run after losing to Germanic prepared invasions and being whittled down to a single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ county. I get that for some people it's fun working their way up from a single county, but to grind out my realm to a magnificent size and lose almost all of it to a 20k stack in an hour's game time? Aw hell nah. There's no bouncing back from this. I got cheated out of the 1 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ week I invested.

Paradox, this was almost a great game. I hope CK3 doesn't have to end up like this. Like free games? Like your time? Don't play this game. CS:GO is more rewarding.
