This game is a bit of a dichotomy. It has stellar voice work that rivals hollywood blockbusters, but the story falls short of the cast talent. It has unbelievable graphics for an open world game, but the world is devoid of character and things to do. Although the vintage playboy centerfolds you find dispersed through the missions will go down as the greatest unlock of video game history. Ultimately the time period, and the voice acting save this game from being uninteresting, it certainly isn't the clunky shooting and combat mechanics. I recommend a buy if it is on sale for $15 or less.

A Bioshock clone in all the right ways, this title borrows heavily from all the recent heavy hitting action games. The story is adequate though a little predictable, but this gem shines through most with its gunplay/gameplay. Animations are spot on, and all the enemies excel at entertaining you with the way they interact with your bullets. Weapons are diverse and satisfying, and the time bending abilities you gain make a big impact in your combat strategies. This is a highly underrated game.

Escape from Butcher Bay remains one of my all time action favorites. This game sports the best hand to hand first person combat i've ever played, and its simple yet effective stealth system works beautifully. This game does a far better job of making you feel like a predator lurking in the shadows than any other. The story is entertaing enough to keep your interest as well as the kick ass gameplay. This title is a must for any action gamer.

I've never had as much fun blowing stuff up than with this little gem. Unbeleivable set pieces and vistas for you to explore, and the action is fantastic. The shooting could've done with a little more work, and the story and voice acting are strictly B movie grade. But everything else about this game will amaze you. Pick it up if it is on sale.

I wrote a review for this game several years ago and I had fond memories recently that made me revisit this title. Plants Vs Zombies is still a masterclass example of this genre. I was blown away by how much I've forgotten about it and how it holds up. With micro transactions so prevalent in the industry the original PvZ stands tall and offers so much content for a measly 5 bucks it's astounding. The charming aesthetic and truly original premise do make things interesting but the meat of the game has always been the neat balance of over powered horticulture vs overwhelming undead odds. You can finish the game in a matter of hours but the minigames and survival modes really deliver all you could hope for.

After EA's aquisition of PopCap this series saw sequels and spin offs but none ever came close to what this game accomplished. They shoe horned micro transactions into it and took all the challenge away for the right price as you can just buy upgrades to get past levels with arbitrary difficulty. This version is still the best as it was unadulterated by EA's business models.

There is still no greater feeling than lasting 18 flags in Survival and knowing that the next wave will be your last. You and your plant troops are in the trenches in a losing battle but you know you're going to keep fighting till the bitter end because your troops have always been there, fighting with all they have. They deserve the same from you.

The original PvZ deserves to be on the top 50 games of all time and is worth your time and money if you have never played it!

This game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blows. It ensures you are constantly frustrated by unpredictable physics, and the background is so distracting in bonus mode that i wasn't able to follow the action properly. This strives to be a futuristic block busting game with eye catching visuals, but only serves as a lesson in anger management. I recommend that everyone NOT buy this game. You definitely wouldn't play with a real peice of ♥♥♥♥, and I can't see a difference between the two.
