Love the demo - it has very few flaws - constrain the level select screen - there's no reason to show me stuff I cant choose. The item descriptions in my inventory could be a bit more accessible. The ? mission select screens are a little wonky and also could use a simpler method to use - I shouldn't have to move the joystick right and left to select a thing below that's my only choice.

While you can play this solo I think the optimal experience is at least 3 players. This game is like a fractal. You think you've seen it all but as you go deeper the amount of weird and surprising mechanics, items, enemies, and locations blows you away. Constantly impressed at how much THERE is there.

I wouldn't recommend a game that materially changes its behavior after release

Dave The Diver: super fun, great animations and characters, tons of out there minigames, a good little story that is surprisingly deep. I thought I would be annoyed running a sushi shop but the variety of people/ingredients/events made it surprisingly fun.

Beat the game, really enjoyed it.

The core "everything is on the beat" mechanic is well implemented and after the first few levels I really felt I was getting in the groove and even the weird "triple slide" mechanic felt right.

The beginning of the game is marred a bit by starting slow, having a decent amount of tutorial stuff that's laded out to you via unskippable bits. I prefer a game that front loads a little of that - eg the block button wasn't introduced until multiple fights in and wasn't available until then (and is the most important mechanic in the game.)

The second half of the game is when it gets interesting, and the game balances little jumping puzzles (both 2d and 3d) and secret squirreling with genuinely enjoyable fights - you can go barreling in and button smash and do alright, but working with your combos not only scores high but feels really good.

The final boss battle wasn't a let down and the story is resolved, pretty rare these days.

Ultimately if this game upgraded its interface a bit and added more content and story that was a little more dynamic I could see them easily charging 20 instead of 10 bucks, still, fun and worth the money.

It's weird as snake suspenders and the resolution of the plot having 2 hours of of content slammed into your eyeballs notwithstanding, this is a fun game. The utter ridiculousness of it is excellent and the focus you'll have over every rock is worth it.

I feel bad for saying no to this game. It clearly looks like an honest effort and it has some interesting mechanics, great artwork, and a fairly fun initial game loop, but the gameplay just bounces me out after awhile.

In terms of in game progress I am about to connect to station 5 and the idea of doubling or trebling my power capacity either by tearing down things or moving into areas and establishing new bases doesn't seem like fun, it seems more like work.

Something Factorio does really well is making me feeling good about completing some pipeline, nestling it into the minimum space, making it easier to build as I build. Robots/blueprints make this exponentially easier.

Atrio is clear about its intentions, you must go out into the wild to beat back the wilderness and use its beating heart to split a pipeline into two pipelines. The problem is that things take up too much space or require weird combinations of input mechanisms which on its own isn't a problem, until there doesn't seem to be any blueprint or labor saving mechanism to building/unbuilding of your base.

The idea of making the beats of the night your monstrous machines is cool, but being constrained by the number I can find to build out basic economy is in practice fairly uninteresting to me.
