Early Access Review
Feels like it's not just a game - it's an addiction in a good way.
Playing for 120+ hours and never got above second level of upgrades because even if you cheat - there ain't that much ways to get resources yet, probably could be "fixed" (added) in next updates for the game. Updates themselves are slow but steady, certain jank was present in the game up to some version - now it feels like a solid experience that you can easily fall into and sink half a day without even noticing.
Gameplay loop is simple - it's a survival game in the "quarantine" zone where your main goal is to build and rent out an apartment building. Basically profitmaxxing while avoiding mushroom disease. It's addicting, fun and even got a good stories to tell with sidequests and a sorta main one.

While I do recommend this mod because of an actual unique style and story - it's a mixed bag that you can't really complain because it's just free.

Premise is great, gameplay loop is simple, yet fun enough, it ain't gonna take a lot of time to complete it and to know a full story, assets are good, overall feeling of the mod is pretty great in visual regard.

Now here comes the cons - story is honestly a mess - I had problems hearing the narrator in the comics-style cutscenes, art itself is alright, sometimes subpar but what do you expect from a free fun experience. Not every line of dialogue was "subtitled" with art, and as far as I understood some lines were actually important which I coudnt even hear properly.
Every chapter has different screen filters and while it's a great addition - first chapter pretty much forces you to use the flashlight, a decent suggestion would be to add some red into the mix (though I'm not sure if Source can do things like filter out all colors but one and so on, would be pretty period correct, cause some mad filmmarkers painted their b&w film on their own).
Some weapons pack quite a punch - you could in theory complete the mod with the revolver and your Leg (tm), but some I found borderline useless - UZI in the third chapter is a peashooter that takes more time to reload than to kill an enemy, OICW in the fourth chapter felt like it's there just to exist and make up the atmosphere. Also no 1911 in 4'th chapter :(
Some people don't like how every enemy is just a reskin - I find it quite fitting - it's the same enemies from HL2, they are meant to be the same enemies from HL2, what's the big deal. Variety could be fun, but it's an addition, not a requirement.
A bit of a spoiler - boss at the first chapter is decently hard even on normal, there is barely enough health pickups to make it through, might be my genuine skill issue but would be nicer to have at least two or a bit more health pickups there

Overall mod is solid good, flawed in some places but good nonetheless.

Early Access Review
While the core gameplay is honestly slow and a third of the upgrades is closed off with premium currency (that you can get for free) - it was alright before the factions update. Ridiculous pricing, half useless, just different skins, really. There are useful abilities, but they are either identical to the free ones or locked up behind a paywall.
It was a slow game, even for an idler, but recent update crumbled the game

An enjoyable game with a good enough gameplay loop. You can really sum this game up with one sentence, and while my perception is positive - game is not that deep, you can see everything it has to offer in about 2 hours. As far as i could experience - game didn't have any bugs, but there isn't much to break either - it's a solid early access piece. But. Game is good, but pretty much abandonware at this point in time. Last update was somewhere in 2020, devs promised Steam Workshop integration, but literally nothing came of it.

UPDATED REVIEW:
Okay, the game was updated. Surprising, but actually shows proper effort from development team. Car physics were updated, blurry textures and optimization issues were adressed, not 100% fixed, but the game is at the very least playable. There are stutters, but they are not that critical to the slow gameplay loop. Updates were promised, and they look actually fun, more touch-ups on an existing mechanics are welcome, though. Although in some update a little QoL feature was added - you don't need to put a tool while renovating an item in it's exact spot - just grabbing a new one is good enough.
While the game is still in Early Access programm - it shows a lot of promise not just in fixes, but in content expansions, so now i can actually recommend it.

(Stutters could've come from my own setup, FX-8320E + RX 570, 24Gb RAM)

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
The core mechanics of this game are pretty addictive - basically "money number go up yay". You gather stuff to sell, and you buy upgrades or stuff like containers, car parts or the belt system thing. But that's really about it, progression stops after some point. And while the gameplay is alright overall, the technical side of this game is extremely raw and way too unfinished. There is practically no optimization, visual glitches (rare, but i count the "appearing-out-of-nowhere" objects as visual and technical glitch), raw interface with a map that doesn't really work properly - it didn't really zoom in for me way too often.
I really can't recommend the game in the current state because of these bugs and issues. It's borderline unplayable, and yet the core gameplay mechanics are pretty fun. Devs really need to fix up a lot of things before anyone could really recommend this game to, well, anyone.

Played this in 2017 and it was a fun arena survival game, with RPG roguelike thingymajigs. Now this is just... Just sadness, i guess. Can't recommend this game because it was patched to death quite literally and instead of a fun little game this looks like an honest cashgrab.

First of all - i absolutely in love with these types of games that have a slow-paced gameplay, good story and this a bit tedious, but still informative "investigation work stuffs thing".
While the game itself is a bit short - it's playtime is kinda based how fast you can piece the puzzle together - it's really good in my opinion.

Multiplayer review only, i guess. Although this was fun in the beginning, things went down the spiral somewhere when the CEO and offices and the f-ing crate update rolled out. Overpriced items that you have to grind - and heavily grind, mind you - pretty much to grind for more items. It may be fun with your friends, but with completely broken anti-cheat system and all the grinding it isn't worth any money. Probably better to grab it for free to see what this game can actually do in there.
Singleplayer is somewhat fun, but dunno, it's more forgettable than GTA 4 or any other GTA games in my opinion.

Played more hours on RGSC, but no way to transfer that time here, right?

While i actually liked the story in the Wastelanders content pack thing - the whole experience of Fallout 76 is extremely infuriating. I run AND FX-8320E and RX 570 4Gb, 24Gb of RAM and the game stutters as... Honestly cannot find anything to compare with except something really mean and nasty. It's unoptimized as all hell and looks like Bethesda just doesnt care about that aspect, just give them your money for atomic shop thing. And level 60+ enemies on random locations that spawn absolutely out of the blue is pretty cool too, for a 35 level character.
On the other hand i really like the world that Bethesda makes, "environmental storytelling" thingy. F76 has more contrast, colour than F4 and that's a really good thing. But holy balls don't buy this if your videocard has less than 8gb of memory. Half-unplayable experience.
Now back to torture myself by playing more of this Frankenstein of netcode and optimizations.

Early Access Review
The game released, huh. While it had a fair pricing for an early access piece - now it's a bit much, though the price has a caviat on top - helping a small indie dev studio even partially get their IP back from a publisher.
Now for the game itself - there are bugs, pretty sure nowadays bug-free release is something worth of a champagne bottle, but usually those bugs are alright, not greatly gamebreaking and you can report them for an actual fix, devs are fixing the game pretty constantly. There are 5 presets for fixer-upper of a house now, instead of one house from early access, while it's enough for about 5-15 hours of bumping around - you can see how the game goes dull quick - repeatable stuff as in 3 quests, scrap collection, potwashing and Ye Olde Almighty Gambling Addiction Slot Machine are getting boring after about 4-8 hours, which is alright for a sandbox where the point of the game is to pay off your debt, get money, build a proper house and retire.
Then again, i was constantly lost in the gameplay loop, spending about 4 hours just repairing and building. The game desperately needs Workshop support for poor sods like me, who get more kick out of the fixing things, rather than building from the ground up. And yet - game in the current state is enjoyable enough to recommend, hopefully it gains more traction and devs put more content in it, it's a niche game, but this niche is in need of a filling.

Original review: The game is surprisingly fun. Full of bugs - it's somewhat easy to fall through the map - but most of them are fixable by soft reset - exiting to the main menu. Fixing the house takes around 4-6 hours of a pretty slow gameplay, but it isn't boring.
Similar to Jalopy stuff - it is Early Access and more stuff is gonna be added in the future, but in my opinion this game right now is worth buying.
