As a person who's watched Joe Gran's YouTube channel for a long time, one of the characters that has stood out to me the most has been 90's Nick, because I come across his archetype quite often in online circles.
This feels like if that character made a throwback game. It's not a good game by any stretch of the word, but it nails down the feeling and aesthetics of mid-to-late 90's PS1 poly aesthetics (which I can admit are quite likable!). That being said, the combat is boring, there's very little differentiation between enemy types, and the game is super easy as you'll be able to hoard painkillers as you complete mundane task after mundane task. I got a good amount of the achievements in far under an hour, which isn't really appealing since the game itself cost me $11.99. If you're looking for something to itch your Silent Hill scratch, you're probably just better off playing an emulated version of Silent Hill 2 or 3.

Quick summary if you don't want to read a review- it's up to par with the other Walking Dead games, but it's not the best one by any means.
Pros:
1.) It's Michonne. This is more of a personal bias, but I just absolutely love Michonne as a character in the comics. And they did the character justice. I prefer keeping her silent through the game, as plenty of characters can take her silent gestures as a response. A+.
2.) The QTE system is new and improved. While it's really only a minor change, the black bars added to the action sequences help the player prepare for a quick response rather than catching them off guard leading to a cheap death. This doesn't mean the QTEs have gotten easier, though. The direction and button prompts on the screen have definitely gotten more thematic.
3.) The action sequences have only gotten more badass. Fitting, since the main character is Michonne, but in the past, TWD's action has been somewhat lame in my opinion. The opening sequence is a glorious use of hallucinations and flashbacks in action, and it actually even develops Michonne's character. Take notes, David Cage!
Cons:
1.) Some of the new characters' voice acting is somewhat lackluster to say the least. For instance, a character named Greg has the worst zombie voice acting I've heard in a video game. Talk about half-hearted moaning into a mic because you're getting paid minimum wage for such a huge job. , and Sam appears to be doing her best Mark Wahlberg from The Happening impression. While Michonne's voice acting is EXACTLY how I envisioned, the other characters' voice acting is still not up to par with some of the supreme voice acting of the previous seasons.
2.) The story is weak. Think of every trope you could find in a zombie story, and throw it in. Tyrannical leader with a false dichotomy of morals? Check! Poor, helpless stragglers? Checkerooni. Pointless undeveloped character death? Absolutely check that box. Disappointing for a game from Telltale, the new adventure game pioneers.
3.) Lack of any character development, as previously stated. You learn nothing about any of the characters EXCEPT Michonne, which I guess is better but my motivations were solely based on Michonne and how it would be best for her to just get out of the situation and head home. And even the character development for Michonne is somewhat weak, given that the very first choice, while harrowing, is utterly meaningless.
In conclusion, I would recommend this to fans of the previous TWD games. However, if you're a new player, go back and play the first two seasons and 400 Days first. It's up to par by TTG's standards, but I had so much more in mind. I suppose we'll have to wait for that ultimate TWD quality until Season 3.

The name of the game is certainly shocking, but the game itself is actually not bad at all. It comes with minigames spanning across 3 genres, and you get to shower with your dad.
If you think that last bit is a bad thing, go soak your head. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Terrible. Just absolutely terrible and cynical. I cannot believe there are people who do this. Stop selling this game. Customers- don't buy this game. It is a Unity asset pack being sold as a video game on Steam. Kotach, the developer, did not "develop" anything. It does not deserve your money.

Early Access Review
The Dead Linger, in its alpha phase, is doing pretty well and might just be that zombie game we were looking for. It's not the best game and they could have chose a better engine than Unity, but I suppose they're doing the best with what they have. Bear in mind that this is a very Alpha game, but even then I've had a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of fun running around the cities and looting everything I could find then going to the forest and setting up camp there. The graphics do look like ♥♥♥♥ right now (V14) but I'm sure they'll get better. They need to add more varieties of zombies besides the fat postman and the black-shirted zombies. Oh yeah, and the dogs are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ overpowered as hell if you don't have any melee weapons, which is a load of ♥♥♥♥. I'm sure they'll update the power of those altogether. The only true bug I had while playing was that whenever I got off my bike (at ground level) I died instantly and it told me "That was a long fall.".... Yeah right. Of 4 inches. But anyhow, this will get better over time.
The final verdict:
8/10
Great early access game and if you love the grittiness of zombie survival you will eat this game right up.
