Seems players (at random) cannot connect to online servers or create online profiles. Also shows my supplied CD key as invalid when I enter it in the settings menu. Ran in compability mode(s), as admin, reinstalled punkbuster, created a user profile manually in appdata folders. Still, the game overrides punkbuster on/off (to off) and renames active user profile to $$$. Unable to create online profile. Unable to connect to online services.

Defunct. Not possible to play single player. Fails to authenticate at startup loading screen.

Payday 2 is a pretty decent game but a horrific example of the practice of games as a service. As a result, most of the current content is locked behind DLC. It goes on sale quite often, though.
