Here’s my experience with Super Arter. I had the misfortune of playing the game and even kept an eye on its development. I was honestly disappointed with what was delivered, especially since it’s just the work of an independent developer. The game is anything but a heartfelt homage to classic 2D titles from the 80s and 90s, instead offering a frustrating and uninspired experience.

Sure, there are moments that will test your patience, but not in a good way. They’re tedious and make the game feel like a chore rather than a challenge. The atmosphere, soundtrack, and level design fail to capture any nostalgia and instead remind you why some eras are better left in the past. From what I’ve seen, the developer isn’t particularly committed to improving the game. He seems closed off to meaningful feedback and updates feel sluggish, which says a lot about his lack of dedication to the community.

Recently, I came across a review that was glowing and overly generous. It felt like its purpose was to trick others into trying the game. While everyone’s entitled to their opinion, I think Super Arter should be judged for what it really is: a clumsy attempt at copying classic platformers and proof that independent developers can just as easily create something forgettable, even with all the passion in the world.

I strongly discourage anyone who enjoys classic platformers from wasting their time on Super Arter. The price, while cheap, still isn’t worth it, and the developer’s passion doesn’t translate into a good experience for fans of the genre. Skip it—you’ll likely end up unpleasantly disappointed, as I was.
