A really fun and enjoyable game. Love the licenses that they have got for all the hardware and the gameplay is simple even for novices

Log in error can not update anything or play my club rendering most of the game unplayable and still no fix from Konami and silent about the issue. typical Konami not caring about the player base. stay away!!

Bought today in sale and very disappointed. Performance is still bad can’t get 60fps at 1080p on a i7 4790k and GTX 1080 Zotac amp Extreme. While I like the changes some of the changes the combat changes are horrendous. Wasn’t a massive fan of the For Honor mechanics and this feels just as bad. Really wanted to like this game but just can’t. Will maybe pick up when it’s under £20 but right now it’s a no from me

So far enjoying the hell out of it, liking that they’ve changed a few things from the previous iterations and the story is pretty strong. Performance wise could be better. Frame rates spike up and down a bit too much for my liking but was to be expected seeing as last few Ubisoft titles have been demanding on performance. Also being AMD enhanced doesn’t help for Nvidia users. Overall happy so far

Really wanted to love this game, but the performance is just terrible. It constantly freezes or crashes to desktop. If I don't completely restart my machine after a crash it runs really slow. Yes, my drivers and directX are completely up to date. Yes I meet the minimum requirements. (and then some) This game has some serious problems and I can't recommend it until they're fixed which is a massive shame as the story has been great so far and had me wanting to keep going dispite the stop start every 10 mins or so. Hold off for the time being until these issues have been ironed out.

“Two rings to rule them all, two rings to find them, two rings to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.” Thus opens Middle Earth: Shadow of War, or at least that’s how it would open if there were any justice in the world.

2014’s Shadow of Mordor ended with our half-ghost/half-man protagonist Talion née Celibrimbor defeating Sauron in hand-to-hand combat and announcing his intention to paradoxically forge a second One Ring. And he does just that to open up this bigger and better sequel.

I’ve played just over 20 hours of Shadow of War so far. Here are my thoughts so far on everything from PC performance to combat to the Nemesis System redux.

Shadow of War PC performance
Let’s go ahead and start with performance so those who just want a quick PC port report can get on their way. In short: It runs great on my machine. This isn’t exactly unexpected, considering how smooth the original Shadow of Mordor was, but then again I would’ve said the same about Batman: Arkham Knight before launch but yeah, there's probably nothing to fear here. But on my machine, I’m riding the 60 frames per second mark on an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 at 1440p. I will note that the 4K texture pack is absurd this time, and turning it on caused my VRAM bar to go literally off the charts. To run this with the Ultra texture pack you’ll need over 10GB of VRAM you’ll need in order to run those textures. Unless you have an incredible PC, don't bother with it.

I've maxed out everything else though and the game looks decent regardless. The visuals haven’t changed much since 2014, but maps seem larger than last time and there are certainly more maps to explore. I’ve only seen three so far but there's plenty of empty space still to be filled. The only bugs I’ve noticed are some odd physics ragdoll glitches—dead enemies literally flying through the air—plus the occasional audio spasm when returning from a cinematic and missing subtitles whenever I pick up collectibles. Nothing too dire, though the last is an odd oversight.
Oh, we should also talk footprint. Middle-earth: Shadow of War is a 97.7 GB install, which (I think) is a new record It’s gigantic, though I think you could pare a bit off if you don’t install the 4K content—it seems to be listed under the game’s DLC.

Mordor she wrote

As for the game? Talion is more mobile than ever. The regions I’ve seen have been pleasantly varied, too. The first act has you bouncing between the dimly lit caverns of Cirith Ungol and the besieged Gondor city of Minis Ithil (later to be Minis Morgul). The latter is an especially welcome change for the series, with its gleaming white walls, iconic Tower of the Moon, and Romanesque arena. And what I’ve seen of the second act has changed it up again, dropping me into a lush and fertile section of Mordor reminiscent of the end of the previous game.
That said, there’s a definite “Been here, done that” feeling and I’m only maybe a quarter (or less?) of the way through. Each region has its own Nemesis system, its own army of pseudo-unique orcs to take down, its own doodads to collect and challenges to overcome. Talion has more powers this time around, and he's more mobile, but the feedback loop hasn’t changed a bit. You’re still entering an area, destroying the various outposts to weaken the big-bad at the top, then taking that foe on head-to-head to try and conquer the region. Over and over and over.

The micro transactions are there yes, but not in your face that it’s begging you to shell out your hard earned money for. And for supposedly being hard to find legendary Orcs I’ve come across about 7 so far and they are out there in the world for you to dominate and haven’t felt the need to buy them and I’m someone that’s been a sucker for buying in game items.

Shadow of War is a good game if you ignore the micro transactions it’s big in size, some may say to big but is enjoyable if played the right way. The grind is real but killing Orc’s and making them bend to your will, will keep you coming back again and again

This is without a doubt one of the most realistic games I have ever played. If you are a hunter at heart, this game will fulfill that void of not being able to experience the thrill daily. I've already put a lot of time into the game and I know I will be putting a lot more into it. I've seen some negative reviews that there are some issues with bugs or graphics gliches, yet I haven't noticed them or they seem barely noticeable compared to the absolute beauty this game delivers which it certainly does. It's one of those games that has a niche following and maximises it by making a game and doing it right

I shan't list a set of pros and cons because to be honest, this is the closest thing you will get to being outdoors and yet still sitting on your computer.

If you want a full immersion experience, you can turn off all the helpers in the settings and play the game how it should be played and experience the realistic difficulty and excitement the game has to offer.

After 30 hours, I'm still in awe of how beautiful this game is. The design is utterly amazing and while you may run into an occasional bug with the AI, it doesn't take away from how realistic this game is.

This game builds on the success of its predecessor and delivers a solid game improving on what made it popular with lots to keep you occupied with

A gem of a game and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I spent many hours sneaking by the Orcs and stabbing them, battling the archenemies spawned by nemesis system. The story is okay in parts but doesn't really give you the feeling that you care about the characters, but gameplay and everything else is what you'd expect from a AAA game

The game gives you the ability to create your own Nemesis, tailored by the encounters in the open world. To tell you the truth, I was worried that nemesis system would just be another gimmick, but it turned out that it was the highlight of this game and has become the games signature feature.

If I would compare Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to some other games, than my choice would be Batman Arkham and Assassins Creed series. What's more, Shadow of Mordor improves on their fighting and stealth formula, decapitating the enemies is certainly better than punching them (Batman Arkham series). Sneaking and passing the enemies is enjoyable too, and sometimes you immerse yourself in hacking and slashing, sneaking and dodging, that you totally forget why did you come to that area of the map and what the hell do you need to do to solve your quest. Yeah, killing Orcs was never more fun and something you can do for hours on end and not get bored.

So, what is the weak point of this game?

The story.

It lacks the narrative, the thing that will hook you on, the depth you need to feel from a story presented in Lord of the Rings universe. Because of it, at least for me, the game isn't worth a second playthrough.

But, all in all, it is a great sandbox third person action game with RPG elements I would recommend to everyone. The skill tree is such that it takes time to get the really good abilities but not so long that you lose interest in working towards the ones you want.

Overall this is a solid game and a AAA game that is done correctly with unique features and mechanics that keep you playing for hours on end.

Take 2 interactive screwing over the GTA community by banning mods. Don't support this publisher and their shady practices

Have played this game since launch coming over from the PS4 version and even after 7 month i still can not get my head round why this game still plays this badly, on a i7 4790k Zotac amp extreme 1080 at 1080p with high settings it still runs at 50 fps. scalng is really poor no matter what you do to setting frame rate does not improve and get awful stuttering. such a shame as it is a good game but just can not get in to it with such poor frame rate and stuttering.
