Go into this game knowing that there's no way it's going to be like Gunz 1. Whether thinking it's a good or bad thing is up to you, but it surely is different. I personally think it's bad as the entire meta for the game is to simply knock you down on the ground and spam whatever spammable weapon you have. I'm guilty of doing it as well, and it feels more like a revenge tactic after I've been hit with that same move over and over and over again. It's dirty gameplay on everyone's part, and even though there are moves to recover from a fall they're not nearly as fast or as flexible enough to get out of the way of someone who's about to spritz you with bullets. As far as K-Style goes, you can chain your ground dashes and air dashes together to get to places faster, but that's as far as it goes from what I've been able to discover. You're also going to be dealing with a lot of "broken" characters, in that you're going to be hearing about how every character on the list is somehow broken from other players and they're not going to let you live your kill down for whatever reason. The truth is that they're all fine, but the mechanics of the game are broken. The dashing is far too short, you have to commit to your wallrun, and jumping off walls is broken. Remember in GunZ 1 how you were able to jump sideways from a wall? Can't do that here for some reason. Likewise the melee mechanics are maddening as well, where you have to commit to your attacks before you do anything else, and if you're out in the open and miss a slash in your chain you're pretty much dead. On the opposite end, if you're caught within someone else's melee chain then don't even fight it as you're going to die anyways. A lot of people seem to forget about blocking, but I think that's because blocking isn't as effective against gunfire as it was in the first game. Each character has a different melee weapon and they each have a range in which their blocks are effective agains gunfire, but it represents it through a bar rather than through an area of effect; essentially, it'll tell you that one weapon blocks less than the other, but the weapons are the exact same size so you just have to take the game's word for it. Even then, you can't completely block bullets in the area it does effect, so it's a moot point. If you want to have fun with the game but don't want to commit to jumping into the fray and dealing with all this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, start off in Tutorial mode, get a handle on the game, and play some co-op missions with other players. You'll get a better feel for the game, get to see other players and characters in action, level up to get more skills, and enjoy other's company before you dive into the negativity of competitive play.
