Really enjoying this idle game! I love watching my little character fish.
Theres quite a few screens to click through, so you have lots to do!

* collect fish in different waters
* max out your fishing and buy multiple fishing rods
* customise your little person
* have a little sushi shop
* have an aquarium
* it's all pretty much idle, theres a LITTLE bit of input but its fun, its not a big deal imo. (click and drag to collect all the fish, set your menu, etc!)

Wow, okay! After 60 hours of gameplay, I feel like I finally have a solid grasp on this game, and I’m still working through the scenarios. I have more to do, AHH.

I was hesitant to buy it at first because of the mixed reviews, but it's been on my radar for a while. I already own Planet Coaster 1 and Planet Zoo, which have a ton of extra rides and DLC. But oh my GOD—this game’s pathing tool is the best. It's hard to go back.

You can create large path areas with the draw path tool, and it’s a complete overhaul compared to the older games. It even includes shape-based pathing—want a flower-shaped food court? A hexagon plaza? You can totally do that. I LOVE having huge customizable spaces for eateries, AND I made a tiny, working garden for my guests that is full of vending machines!

* Gift Shops were just added. You can customize their size, assign specific items. A tiny pizza cart is possible!

Some aren't sure but...
FOR ME, another huge plus: the in-game Workshop access. Yes, it’s a bit laggy, but you can search for and download content right from the main menu. Don’t like the default shop buildings? Browse the Workshop and grab a new one in under a minute. It’s incredibly convenient. I’ve downloaded coasters, rides, decor—no need to build from scratch unless you want to. Which is great. I don't want to do that when I'm playing a scenario that'll be over in ten minutes.

I'm also still playing Planet Zoo, and I really miss that feature over there. In Zoo, I’m stuck with boring shells or plain toilets for scenarios, and I don’t want to waste time decorating them. If Zoo had the same Workshop integration, it would be a game-changer for me, I'm struggling.

...Now, for the MEH:

* The pathing AI can be dumb sometimes—guests get stuck occasionally, but it seems like mostly user error. I just pick them up and move them. It rarely happens for me,

* Staff management is by far the worst part. You have to assign staff zones one-by-one, and there’s no quick method. It’s tedious. This will eventually be fixed, they can't leave it this way-- surely.
* Notifications can be annoying, but you can turn them off.

...Some good things!

* The move and delete tools are way better than in the previous games.
* Time controls are more intuitive: 1, 2, 3 for speed, and spacebar to pause. In Planet Zoo, it's “O” and “P” which feels so clunky by comparison.

* There are more options for staff paths and decorations.

* Making flumes is fun. People can literally fly out of them if you design them poorly (which is hilarious and highly recommended).

* The UI is cleaner and easier to navigate than in Planet Zoo or Planet Coaster 1. It just feels better. My kid could easily pick it up and play. It's so much easier than Planet Zoo.
-----

Despite the staffing frustrations, I genuinely think the game is worth full price. I’ve already spent 60 hours on just the campaign and plan to put in a lot more. It’s fun, accessible, and full of potential. I can’t wait to see what rides and updates come next!

Early Access Review
I am well addicted.
This game is genuinely cute as a slow paced town builder.
You put down some 'shells' of businesses, and then choose some of the villagers you have to work.
Then you bring them ingredients and they sell it to the tourists.
But eventually, you can multi-manage. I have a courier service now that can follow roads I build, and that will take ingredients from the farmers to the shops, and more.

That, plus constant changing exports, it's made a fun little game! 😸💜 Can't wait to see more updates. I'm still 12~ hours in and I have so much to do!

Early Access Review
I like grindy games but...

Well. This game, man.
The first thing that happened when I loaded it up - I appreciated the graphics being cute and pixelated 2.5D-ish.
But then I accidentally found out it had a premium currency?!
It said 'Points' and 'SHOP', and that threw me off completely. I pushed on though cus I don't mind games with extra currencies, typically.

But then, I found out you can only move by clicking the mouse. And you can't point far on the map, your lil' avatar can only go so far before they stop or go off track, so you need to click a thousand times to get there.
It had some semblance of a tutorial, leading me to things, but the first town was abysmal, open space with broken ruins in a giant open field of nothing. It's probably fine but didn't encourage me to want to stay.
The map markers are confusing, and I barely noticed them when running around.

Then there comes the part of the tutorial where you need to use the workbench!
First of all, it's a workbench that's already placed in the 'town ruins' or whatever, you don't get to build one. (sad)
But the big thing - going out to collect the items, I noticed you have an energy bar!
An energy bar!? You get 15 energy back per minute, and I noticed some actions were taking 22+ energy per action! Just to cut a piece of wood, or gather things? The first part of the tutorial took half of my energy bar!

Finally, the nail in the coffin which made me get a refund was seeing in the newsletter that they're going to do a whole server wipe. They are going to erase everything after it comes out of 'early access'.

Thats...so upsetting.
For normal games that can be expected. For THIS PARTICULAR GAME where you have to wait for ENERGY to do a PART of the tutorial, absolutely not!

TLDR:
  • Plays like Freemium Game / Advertising Points Shop
  • No WASD, only mouse movement. Clicking.
  • Map markers difficult to follow.
  • Tutorial OK / Starter town not engaging enough.
  • Energy bar. ENERGY BAR.
  • Servers will be wiped at the end of 'early access'.

This game is actually legitimately fun and I've returned to it multiple times over the years.
I bought it to keep me going through newborn days with my first and ended up playing it again with my second baby being born.

It's a great time waster, and I really enjoyed going through the campaigns.
Today, it's been years probably since I loaded it up, and I was like, I gotta load it up again - because I went to a fish department in a little garden centre, saw the pumps, and got excited.

Lacking.

Not gonna lie, this game feels very strange.
It looks cute and I like town builders, especially those that revolve around trade, economy, and family building.

However, I can't recommend this. Even if I dabble with it, I don't find its worth the price, NOR would I EVER recommend its full price. (£20???) 🥴

The game has a lot of really in depth things ...in some areas, for example storage and the AI works seemingly well there.

But it feels...not complete. As soon as I made a 'family', there wasn't an option to PLAY. Just confirm. Confirm what? Okay, my family is made, now what?

So I was like, okay, I'll just play the tutorial.
The tutorial feels OK, I love a good tutorial. They can make or break a game. But then I spent literally ten minutes waiting for the characters to build on 3x speed.

Also, when building you aren't shown the family/household zone.
So when it was asking me to build 100 walls in the family zone, I was like, but where? Hope its here!

- The pixels for the children are smushed and blurry, which shows they just shrank the hair down instead of redrawing new ones. (Which would be fine if this was a demo, in general VERY early access, but not TWENTY FREAKIN' POUNDS.

- Genetics are non-existent. You are limited in character skin tones, and hair colours. I wanted a character with white or silver hair, but I had to go with blonde. Then I was limited to a few clothes. Maybe 3 recolours of the same outfit each.

- The art style feels very RPG maker, making me wonder if the artist actually made the tiles, or if it was just bought. Which, also, would be fine, if it felt like a passion project. Unfortunately, it feels sort of unloved in a lot of areas, like a thing someone made ...to just make.

I don't know how this game has so many positive reviews!
I really felt like it wasn't worth it. It has so many ALMOST THERE concepts and I can tell the person who programmed this really spent time on it - but it absolutely isn't there yet.

Edit. Just found out this is a full release game.
Oof.

This game is so fun. The devs are very very enthusaistic about updates and bug fixing too, their discord is just poppin'.
I actually broke the game terribly a few times, and they immediately helped me out by joining my stream + chatting with me privately.

Other than that, the game is addicting.
You can build and destroy almost everything on a whim, and you just decorate wherever you want.
(I made a tower of trees because lol.)

Your cat is customised 100% by colours and patterns, and you can invite people to your village, which you build yourself!
The people you invite to your village are based on personalities - if you want a shop keeper who is chill, you'll get a different animal than you would if you chose one that was preppy!

I recommend it even full price, you'll get lots of fun out of it. 😸

I'm letting out a sigh. It's okay.
Compared to some of the other 'desktop idler' games, this one requires a lot of input, so I recommend it as a 'maybe'.
It's not entirely what I wanted out of an idler.

The facts:
* You buy an animal
* You have to feed said animal until food is a high level (important. If you do not feed it, it will not grow * ANNOYING / imo but not like, you know, life ending.) This could be like, 20 carrots, clicking a carrot each time to feed it. Ugh.
Once you get further into the game, you can purchase 'better' foods, but like, that took me hours of gameplay to get to.
Also...

* Once animals grow up, they start to earn 'coins', which, was cool! But they don't earn much. I'm talking like, 5 coins per minute, and they stop collecting after they're full, at like...30 coins, or something. To give you an idea, a single carrot costs 5 coins.
So you're not earning big stacks from keeping these animals around. The better your animal the more coins you get, but they still have a limit, and need food, which is just ugh. I felt like it wasn't really a reward?

* I had the bees that collect them, but I never saw them actually collecting them, just floating around, buh. AND...

* They get sick. My god. This is annoying. You have to keep on top of their food for them to grow, then they can get sick. Which you have to buy medicine for. And I haven't had any DIE, so they might not even die, but the anxiety alone is too much and I wish this feature didn't exist! Like why!?

* I kept a rabbit (locked as a favourite) that was black because it reminded me of my old house rabbit, but then it started to get sick after I was AFK for a while, and at that point I just sold it, because it wasn't worth the hassle or stress. I miss my rabbit, I don't want my fake rabbit to get sick because I'm too busy to feed it. I didn't really think I was signing up for tamagotchis here.

I would generally not recommend this, compared to other desktop idlers, because its not a true idler and requires too much input for me, but there you are.

Exactly what I came for.
I found this developer posting on reddit, and I thought the game looked fun. A few days later it released and I am glad I bought it so far! It looks really cute. The character is spawned in with some dreams and skills, and you choose to accommodate their life around them while they live it. Give them a job, let them earn while you do other things IRL, and then purchase things to help with their lives to make it better. (Better furniture, a toilet instead of a bucket to poop in lmao, a bed...etc)

They get promoted and you build their house bigger!
